| Hey all!
I started designing a JoJo MOC a little while back, and I recently went back
and made some improvements, mainly to the final two sections. I'm still not
sure about certain aspects, though, and could use some help coming up with improvements.
The basic idea of the MOC: a micro, Architecture style diorama of 8 notable locations
from JoJo Part 5: Vento Aureo (Golden Wind). These locations are, from left to
right in the MOC:
- Naples
- Pompeii (and mirror world Pompeii)
- the train towards Venice
- Venice (sorry: Venezia)
- Costa Smerelda, Sardinia
- a building on the outskirts of Rome
- the Colosseum
- The Pont & Castel Sant'Angelo
I could do with some help from any MOC designers, but maybe input from JoJo fans,
Architecture MOC designers and Italians would provide specific needed insights.
If you can help, I'd appreciate any feedback, but I do have a few specific
areas I'm unsure on:
- Naples: That homunculus at the back is meant to represent more of the city
going back and providing a balcony to represent where Giorno says his first 'I
have a dream' quote to Bruno, but I don't quite like how it looks and
could do with suggestions to help with this. I am pleased with how I used the
anti-studs on the back to suggest a funicular going uphill, but can definitely
reject it.
- Venezia: That is meant to be the San Giorgio Maggiore, but I'm not sure
how well I've done recreating it. The main body of the church in particular
looks off to me, rather than the tower. Also, that 1x2 tile in the water is the
small boat the team arrive and leave on.
- Heli & Building combo: Aside from the goofiness of the tiny heli, I'm concerned
with whether the build will be stable enough: I'm just using Studio at the
moment and can't test it physically, and even Studio has some concerns about
this area. Also that dark green part is the garbage collection truck, but at
this scale looks a bit like a cement mixer.
- Castel Sant'Angelo: this bit probably suffers from the scale more than
the others. With how I designed the border, the actual diorama areas are 13 x
14, and my desire to include the whole bridge, the castle in the background and
the foreground riverbank where the action takes place means many things have
been shrunk, noticeably the castle. I know it's missing the wall in front
of it, and the colour is totally wrong (though I don't know which colour
would work best, and I'd like this to actually be buildable so I'm trying
not to use non-existent colour bricks), and many more problems, but I don't
know how to fix it.
I would rather not move to a larger scale, mainly because I don't want to
tear up the whole thing and start again, but if some problems seem unsolvable
I am willing to do it.
Please help me out, I love JoJo, especially Part 5, and would love a decent looking
diorama of the series.

It's an animated series based on a Japanese manga. The season this MOC is
based on takes place in Italy. I can send reference images for certain sections,
but most of them are real places in Italy so it's almost easier that way
haha
