Hi! I'm new on bricklink and was parting out a set and noticed something
odd and I'm trying to identify correct color, listed as pearl gold.

So uploading set# 41537 New, and there are these 5 cheese slopes that are supposed
to be pearl gold, however there was one that is more metallic. Is this a different
pearl gold?

Also in this set was 3- 1x1 round plate in pearl gold. There are like the one
cheese Slope and more metallic looking than others I have pulled.

Just curious if this is a common issue with this color?

Yes with pearl gold there are many variations in its colour and generally, it
is not separated or worried about. in general people refer to that darker one
as Flat Dark Gold but its still classified as pearl gold in sets for modern colour
issues

Flat Dark Gold is a rarer, older color that is much darker than any Pearl Gold
variation.

OP, if you're ever not sure, a good trick is to check the sets that the part
comes in (neither of yours exist in Flat Dark Gold)

yah that is what it officially is but whenever i see it in that dark colour I
list it flat dark gold even tho it doesn't actually officially exist as that
its just very very similar and in general modern parts that have those issues
are from the same era where those actually were made with that colour

And that was kind of my thought, this was from a 2015 set, so there might have
been a variation that was similar and got dropped in this set. Inventory of the
set says pearl gold, but it is certainly a lot different. On the round plate,
the one in the middle is a shade off from the other 2 and I could see that being
acceptable, but the other 3 are different for sure, as is the cheese slope in
the middle.

Thanks for the help, again just getting into this and certainly a little more
familiar with the newer color, but not sure of the older stuff.

They are different shades, but they are the same colour. When they make the
coloured plastic for the part it is slighlty different each time. LEGO doesn't
care if the same colour is in slightly different shades. It happens a lot with
White, LBG, Reddish Brown, many colours.

This is perfectly normal, especially for older sets. They are both classified
as Pearl Gold for the purposes of selling. Sometimes when i am selling parts
and i have both i try to group them together so that the buyer gets all the same
shade, but sometimes you cant.

Here is a photo of some of my trophies i have collected over the years...same
issue..

People will debate the nuances, but for the purposes of selling they are all
Pearl Gold. If you want to list them as two lots under Pearl Gold you can, with
notes for the different shades. Up to you.
