| Is it normal for items to go to stockroom when they are paid for? I just had
an order of minifigs and minifig parts and all of the parts are now showing as
stockroom even though they have been paid for, packed, and shipped. I never noticed
this before and wasn't sure if it was normal procedure or not.

If they are in your stockroom with a quantity of 0, then you likely clicked the
Retain checkbox for those items. Retain means all sold lots go to your stockroom
automatically. It's useful for sellers who restock their items.

Thanks Jen. Would it be the one in Inventory screen or add parts screen that
would cause it? I honestly do not recall selecting it but I want to make sure
it's not checked going forward.

They both have the same effect.
You can do a search for Marked for Retaining Zero Qty to see if any of your other
lots are also checked.
BTW, there is no harm in it. Lots with 0 quantity do not show up for sale in
your shop.

Yes/no.
NO: if they're NOT marked "Retain", there shoudn't be any (assuming you
didn't move them yourself, but then it'd be a strange question).
YES: it happens from time to time, here once every some months.
It seems related to how the Instant Payment works, as items move to stockroom
while the buyer pays (for 10 minutes AFAIK).
Then normally, those are deleted.
Sometimes they're not, but usually deleted the next day (when BL restarts
after midnight EDT), where there seem to be a kind of purge.
Leave them as is and check on tomorrow?
If not deleted tomorrow, simply delete them manually.
There's also an option you could check somewhere in shop settings:
[x] Auto-delete zero qty stockroom items after [1] days of moving to stockroom

I think this might be one of those situations. I looked up what Jennifer said
and saw all the items in the stockroom and it just happened that the only items
there were from that recent order. Nothing else was there. Ghost in the machine,
perhaps?

A bit complicated...
Before payment items (quantities ordered) are "moved" to stockroom, and if the
payment went through, then the items are removed.
If it fails, I guess it comes back to normal inventory.
But there's also this notion of delay (10 minutes), and probably how well
BrickLink is notified it's been a success or not.
The buyer can also simply refresh the page, history back, or such foolish things
during payment...
So, there could be 2 or more payment attempts (the seller never know).
Maybe in this case those "moves" back and forth may become erratic, and some
get stuck in Stockroom, with this 0 quantity.
