Suggestion: Please Add one more Confirmation Step before placing orders that
have Manual Invoicing.

Reason: It is too easy to place an actual order that does not include
a payment step with full Auto-Checkout.

Explanation: Buyers have gotten used to Auto-Checkout procedures that
offer many stages/clicks in order to fully commit to an order and make payment.
This allows buyers more opportunities to be sure they really want to place that
order.

With non-Instant Check-out orders, once presented with the Shopping Cart, there
is now only ONE Click required to place that order. Buyers who expect that next
click to give them more information such as shipping charges or a Grand Total
end up placing an order.

The Green Button to place the order does NOT even say PLACE ORDER -- it
only says AGREE AND CONTINUE

Side Note: I just fell into this trap myself. After having previously
placed some Instant-Checkout orders, I found myself in a manual invoice shop.
Even tho I was aware of that fact, I clicked the Green button and placed the
order. It surprised me very much and left me rather unhappy.

As a seller, I have been processing too many order cancellations from buyers
who claim they did NOT wish to place the order, but did so by mistake. Now I
know why.

Conclusion: It is too easy to place a manual invoice order now. A lot
of order cancellations may be due to buyers placing orders unintentionally (by
accident or mistake). By adding ONE MORE Confirmation Step, it can potentially
reduce the occurrence of unintentional orders, unhappy buyers, and unhappy sellers
who must process order cancellations or deal with those unhappy buyers.

Also, the final step should explicitly state PLACE ORDER, not simply AGREE
AND CONTINUE.

In my opinion, this is a very simple fix that will solve a lot of unhappiness
and cancelled orders.

No - we're in 2022, please set up auto invoicing.

The manual way was fine when dinos ordered their meal on the Net.
Now they're dead - it proves this is a bad way to invoice nowadays.

I voted no. If they are going to make a change here, then in my view it should
be that no manual invoiced order is a real order until the buyer accepts it and
pays for it. If bricklink wants to be less confusing to buyers, they should accept
that buyers want to know the costs before placing a legally binding contract.

That is, any order that uses manual checkout should be treated as a quote only
(that reserves stock for a set period) until the seller provides the full costs
and the buyer accepts it by paying. Allow either person to cancel the manual
order until it is paid. No feedback is allowed for any order that goes unpaid.
If cancelled, stock can be returned to the inventory.

If a seller thinks the buyer is not going to pay and placed a malicious order
to block stock, they can cancel it. If the buyer thinks the seller is charging
too high fees or shipping is too high, they cancel it. If a buyer keeps placing
this type of order in a store without paying, the seller can stoplist them.

The only people that wouldn't like it are presumably those that cannot come
up with a postage price without picking the whole order first.
