Hello.

I have a Death Star UCS 10188. It is 75% new, with just Box 1 opened, and Bags
1 opened. These bags contained the Minifigures. Some of which where missing.
I have sourced replacement figures but I have now found that one of the two Death
Star Imperial Troopers has a slightly different Torso. In that on the metal buckle
of the utility belt, one has a Black circle, and one doesn't. Everything
else is identical. Does anyone know if this is for a different Minifigure or
a strange variant.

The photo attached shows both Minifigures.

Thanks, Ian.

  Hi,

Upon purchasing replacement minifigures, I've also discovered that one of
the Death Star Imperial Troopers has a slightly different torso: one's belt
has a black circle, and the other one doesn't.

Although this is a very strange occurrence, it doesn't seem uncommon, as
both you and I have encountered this phenomenon, and so did this guy: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1380326

I've attached a photo of my minifigures for reference just so you know you're
not alone in this.

Hope this helps!

Yes it does help thank you. You have the mirror image of my 2 Imperial Troopers.
Some one might be able to spread more light on it. Though it was strange that
Bricklink did't show the variant. Ian.

I have found some info on an Imperial Trooper minifigure in the Battle of Endor
8038. It shows large pictures of the Minifigures in the instruction book with
no black circle. On the Box the trooper has the black circle on the front, but
no black circle on side of the box. On a site called Eurobrick a review of 8038
shows the 2 figures in the attached photo. One torso has the black circle the
other doesn't. So some where there is a factory producing Imperial Troops
without the black circle. Ian.

I have now found that there are 3 variants of the Imperial Deathstar Troopers.
One has a Thick Black Circle, another has a Thin Black Circle and the third has
no Circle on the Silver Belt Buckle. This make it rather annoying when you are
trying to complete a set for sale. I needed 2 Imperial Troopers, but in the process
I have bought 3 different Troopers. So I don't have a matched set of 2. The
photo of the Trooper for sale is a stock photo so you don't know what you
are buying till you get it. If the catalogue had been updated then I wouldn't
have to buy 4 Troopers! Also, there are 2 variants of the Black Helmet. One has
a pin hole in the top, the others don't. So, the Imperial Trooper with the
Thin Black Circle has the Helmet with the Pin Hole. (I feel like I'm in a
Danny Kaye movie with the Chalice from the Palace, and the Vessel with the Pestle
has the brew that is True,,,,,,)

Ian.

Ian.

And just when you think it can't get any worse, Lego had made an error in
the instruction to built the Laser Rifle Stand on the right of the second picture.
The 1 x 2 slope either should be the other way around, or like me, have another
1 x 4 black plate to elevate it, so the rifle butt doesn't push the top bricks
off when in the 1st or 4th holes.
