| He doesn't look like anyone in the Eddie Murphy film, nor is he the Ghost
Host. Any idea who he is?

He is the butler from the Haunted Mansion at Disney parks.

| I understand that the character is somehow related to the haunted mansion in
Disney Land, but I don't think that he appears on the ride or in any film
based on it.

He appears in various bits of Disney merchandising. Such as this Funko.

I believe he was a character in the TV special for Muppets in the Haunted Mansion
that released last year. The costume is definitely the same and the character
was played by Will Arnett. I have to believe that the character probably existed
before that in some capacity, but I am not sure how else it has been used.

The butler(s) is(are) the guide(s) that guide folks onto the ride. The part
is (or was supposed to be) played by a cast member. Supposedly this was in the
original script for the ride. I don't know if this is true.

Yeah this is also my understanding (grew up going to disneyland) Its the dude
narrating the ride as far as I know

| Huh. On the ride, the narrator is the "Ghost Host" who looks like this. He has
a different costume. However, the cast members who guide you in do, in fact,
have the same costume! That must be it!
