| I've finally created a script that integrates with our national post office.
However, the post office requires IOSS number, but I can't find it anywhere
in the API. Does it exist anywhere? Is it planned? Does anyone have good suggestions
for workarounds?
If it doesn't exist, then I suggest adding it here: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/api.page?page=get-order

Isn't there only one IOSS number? I don't think it changes from order
to order.

Isn't there only one IOSS number? I don't think it changes from order
to order.

Thanks for the feedback  you might be right, but:
In my experience all orders to UK have one number, to EU countries there is another
number, to all other countries theres no number. Maybe the UK and EU numbers
have different names, but for our postal service they use 'IOSS' for
both.
... Meaning, as far as I know there are 3 different choices, and the numbers
might change without notice.
Ive created a solution which picks the IOSS number based on shipping country(which
I get from API), but solution isnt bulletproof, and I Will have to make my own
mapping for all countries and also keep it updated.

They are VAT registration numbers.
OSS = One-stop-shop (I = Import): BL only needs one registration for all EU.
That was set up before Brexit, so UK uses the same scheme… but is not in EU anymore,
so BL needs a UK VAT ID.
IIUC, UK made a special CN-22A with a ‘VAT ID’ (or something similar) field added,
and they don’t care much if it’s sent electronically, while EU wants it electronically
and not written on the package. *sigh*

And we don’t know yet how it will work for Canada.
And maybe Norway will be added one day (but then, as you live there, you don’t
export to Norway  ).

The thing about that is I don't know if it will be collected from sales outside
of Canada directly as when I purchase from the site that rhymes with radioactive
decay I get charged the standard import cost as a charge that is different than
how it charges tax from when I buy within Canada
|

Thanks for your input 😀 that's all good reasons for adding it to the api
I wonder how lager stores handle it 🤔
