Hi,
I am new to Brinklink.
When I use Auto Select to buy parts the list says it is 104% of my wanted list.
5689/5422 assigned (104%)

Do I understand this correctly that this will create duplicates for the order?
How do i find and delete the duplicates for the order?
Do i really have to go line by line on 5689 parts ?

Sometimes the auto select algorithm over assigns certain parts. This could be
due to bulk amounts or a bug in the algorithm. Maybe try again.

AFAIK, there’s no direct way to see which lots have been ‘over-selected’.

‘Over-selection’ happens when sellers propose ‘bulk lots’: a lot where you have
to buy by a multiple (like x10).  And those lots are generally a bit cheaper.
So, if you want 5 parts, it may be cheaper to buy 10 in an already selected store
than to find a new store to buy only 5.

So look for a ‘x N’ indicator next to your items.

But also know that those ‘over-selected’ lots may hide lots that have not been
‘pre-ordered’ at all (= missing lots!).

To see if the 104% is really 100% + a few more parts and not 95% + more parts,
use the Wanted Items tab on the left.  It shows all the parts in your Wanted
List(s) except the ‘pre-ordered’ ones.

It would be so much simpler if they indicated the number / percentage of unfulfilled
lots instead of the number of fulfilled including over-fulfilled.

The wants lists really shows what happens when programming is done by someone
that doesn't understand the point of the tool. Imagine a parent sending their
kid to the store with a shopping list:
1 Chicken
2 Onions
8 Potatoes
8 Carrots
1 Chocolate Bar

And the kid coming home with a bag of 20 chocolate bars.

Yeah, there should be a full comparison report:
— P parts found,
— Q parts missing (button to list which),
— R parts over-bought (button to list which).

One shouldn’t have to search all the pre-carts.  Especially if lots have been
split between different stores.

Exactly

Well, TBH, what happens on BL is that the kid only found the candy store because
the other stores were closed or on the other side of town where the kid is forbidden
to go.
But coming home shouting ‘I got everything!’ (or ‘I even got more!’ when coming
home with 21 chocolate bars) is stupid.
