| hello, I am new to bricklink and I was wondering how you send someone a tracking
number. do a send it through a privet message or is there a way to insert the
number so all they have to do is click it? please let me know

Use the drive thru feature, after first activating the “Tracking Number” column
within your “Orders Received” settings

hi I just changed the settings. once I send the drive through message will they
be able to see the tracking number?

Thr tracking number will be visible on their order details page.

You're able to test drive the drive thru by sending the drive thru to yourself
(unselecting the buyer tab, first). As shown in the screenshot below:
Your buyer will then receive either via email or BL message system or both, an
active USPS tracking link. See second screenshot below:

I am doing everything you're saying. the tracking link is not showing up
on the drive through page. is there another setting I need to click?

You can edit the template for your Drive Thru! message here:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/mystore/message_templates.page
Be sure to include the macro tags to include the tracking number field in your
message.
