I didn't realize there was a slow season for Legos?? I worked in the service
industry as a bartender for over 10 years, which has a slow season... I just
didn't realize Lego had one too. Does anybody know the actual reasons? Cause
all I can think of is that school just started and people dropped a ton of money
on that, so money is tight.

Thoughts..

Lego is an indoor activity. Usually, when the weather gets nice, people go outside
and do other activities while they can. Obviously, this doesn't apply for
all of the world, but it does apply to a good chunk of it. April through September
tend to be the slow season in the US. November through January can get super
busy.

Busy times for me are
Oct-Dec people buying X-mas presents, Jan kids spending money from x-mas, April-July
MOC building for conventions. The rest is slow.

The cost of living crisis may also have had a major contribution - the price
of food, fuel, goods are rocketing as are interest rates, while wages aren't.
People are worried about heating and eating; they're not worried about Lego.

On top of everything else.

What do kids like to do (or their parents like them to do) when it is sunny?
What do kids do when it is cold and rainy?

I've told my kids a few times over the past weeks to stop playing LEGO and
go outside and play.

It is fairly similar for adults too. I don't think I have built any MOCs
over the past couple of months, there are too many better things to do in the
garden. I'll build again when the evenings are cold and dark.
