Hi!

Just recently opened my store and I have a couple of questions:

1. For parting out sets, why do so many people list parts are 6 months' average
price? Wouldn't you want to be the lowest price? If someone could explain
to me why people list higher than lowest that would be greatly appreciated.

2. How do I grow as a store? I get a couple of sales here and there every month,
but it seems very random. What steps have you taken to get your store off the
ground?

3. How much time per day (estimate) would you say you put into your bricklink
store?

4. I want to focus my niche on just minifigures, but would it be a bad idea to
also have parts on my store?

If you can answer any or all these questions, it would be much appreciated.

Selection is what usually draws people to your store and not just price. If I
need a part and its average sales price is $1 but someone is selling it for .10
but doesn't have anything else I need I won't buy from then meanwhile
if someone has it available for say $2 and also has a lot of other parts I need
ill buy from them instead.

Just list. there's no magical workaround. once you start getting closer to
10k lots (not multiple lots of the same part with no difference) sales will be
more regular.

  3. How much time per day (estimate) would you say you put into your bricklink

That's different for everyone. I put anywhere between 0 and 12+ hours a day
into my store but it's different for everyone depending on if it's your
job or a hobby or something else.

  4. I want to focus my niche on just minifigures, but would it be a bad idea to

it won't hurt your store to list anything else.

If you can answer any or all these questions, it would be much appreciated.

Hope these help!

That is called a race to the bottom.

We use different strategies depending on the part. If we have a part we added
six months ago and has never sold it gets discounted. Any parts that haven't
sold in a year get a very deep discount because I would rather use the space
and money on something that will sell.

As your store grows in inventory your sales should increase. We started 2022
with a little over 200K parts now we are close to 500K and we average 5-7 sales
per day.

  3. How much time per day (estimate) would you say you put into your bricklink

That is difficult to figure out. We have a part-time person that comes in 20
hours a week to handle shipping and pick orders. We contact people to part out
sets. I focus on buying the right sets and adding the sorted parts to storage
so my time involvement is minimal.

Having parts in your store will not affect your Minifigure sales.

If you can answer any or all these questions, it would be much appreciated.
