| Hey smart people of Bricklink, I recently purchased the inventory from another
BL store. That store has provided me with their BL XLM download file (which
is actually a .txt file) generated from the "download" link located on the BrickLink
site under the "Add Items to my Inventory" tab. I DON'T want to MASS UPLOAD
this inventory to mine as that will make my inventory pretty messy with duplicate
items, different prices on those items, bad inventory locations, etc, etc.
My question is how can I import the invxlm.txt file into a "Brick Store" spreadsheet
first, so I can confirm the data and make any necessary changes prior to adding
it to my store?
Note: I thought I could do it by first adding it to a new wanted list, calling
that list up in Brick Store and than importing that as inventory, but that didn't
work as the wanted list is throwing errors for duplicated items (i'm assuming
New and Used conditions). So, I need some help. How do you guys handle store
inventory purchased from another seller?

I don't understand why it wouldn't be easier to mass upload it to a stockroom.
From there you'd be able to do a non-unique items search to sort things
out.

Just go into BrickStore and click import an XML file, then select the txt file.
That should import it into BrickStore for you and you can manipulate it as needed
but uploading to BrickLink.
Don't forget when you add an XML file to BrickLink there are all kinds of
options like consolidating lots, merging remarks, keeping old prices, or updating
to new prices. You could also upload to a stockroom and manipulate it through
there. Good luck.

| Two options:
1) you can use the Bricklink upload option, just use the drop downs and say to
"consolidate lots by using" options and change to "old..." that will put the
overlapping items together and only create new lots for the items you do not
have in your inventory
2) You can open it in Brickstore:
File
Import
Bricklink XML
use the drop down to change the file type to (*)
select the txt file and open
Save as a brick stock file once opened.
