I have about 30 pounds of new sealed bags of Lego from boxed sets. I have scanned
the barcode, where one exists, but it does not tell me the original set the bag
came from. How do I identify the original set for these bags? How would one list
"Bag #2 from set xxxx-1, new sealed"?

On the same topic, how do you know how many bags came in a set? If I identify
bags 1-6, how do I know if there is are more bags? Older sets, the pieces came
jumbled together. Newer sets, they are grouped by how they are used in the instructions.

Youtube unboxings would be best for finding out how many bags are in a new set

Compare the 3 least common parts that you can identify per bag:

OK, I have identified the first one as bag #2 from set 45401-1.
How do I list this? What would recommended pricing be?
Does anyone else do this? Why or why not?

I would just part them out. If you identify a full set, then you will have another
decision to make.

The other thing you would need to worry about is that many sets have several
"bag #2"s.
Some have as many as 4 or 5 that would all be bag #2. Probably more of a pain
to try to list a bag than just part it out as others have said.

(This is why I also have about 40 pounds of sealed bags somewhere in my house
that don't have any figs or good parts).
