What does everyone do with their f’legos? Sell them at yard sales? Donate them
to goodwill? Or just simply throw them Away? And are there people who buy f’legos?
I remember a few weeks ago someone Was saying they wanted to buy mega bloks!
😂

What should I do with my tons and tons and tons of f’legos? 😂
Thanks!

Oh you know, toss them in the bucket. Add a dash of nail polish remover. Makes
a fresh batch of Kragle plastic cement for the MOC du jour

yeah. .what you do is you take all of your F'Lego's & mix them with any
Lego bricks or parts you have that are damaged or too worn / faded to sell individually.

stir that bucket up, make ya Large Priority USPS Flat Rate boxes full of "mixed
Lego & Other Bricks"
$2.00 a pound...

Hmm okay but arn't short hands intended to save time however so far I think
you've only saved typing one character....

FAKELEGO
F'LEGOS

but okay I give you two characters given I didn't use a space between the
two words but perhaps simply flego is good enough without the need for an apostrophe
and it certainly doesn't need the S on the end because even when referring
to multiple bricks its still just refereed to as a pile of Lego rather than a
pile of Legos!

So what your really suggesting is to mislead people into buying something that
is not as good or worthwhile as it first sounds particularly if all the Lego
in the mix is worn/damaged and next to useless?

Just be transparent about what your selling to begin with and lower buyer expectations
rather than raise them. I'm sure It will be a lot more appreciated if the
buyer fully understands what they are buying rather than being left feeling duped!
besides even if it doesn't make you much money at least you know its going
to a good home where someone is actually gonna make use of it all. If someone
only buys it with the hopes of some hidden Lego treasures in the mix then you
only pass the problem onto someone else with it potentially ending up dumped
and going into landfill!

I'd be angry too, but not much of a trick is it? People I've known with
those expectations have both the capital and understanding to ignore those listings

$2/pound of bulk (I assume unwashed?) for filler bricks or a gift for small children
is within reason

Your missing my point which is about being transparent regardless of what it
is your selling. If the car radio doesn't work in the car your selling then
you should mention that, if a job lot of Lego is all fake with the only Lego
in the mix being worm, damaged and next to useless then you should mention this
too! Its the simple courtesy of being honest and transparent about what your
selling, it shouldn't be about trying to pass something off just in order
to make a quick buck out of someone!

what part of me listing a used box lot of Lego & Other Bricks is decieving a
grandma who doesn't nor care about official Lego's vs Mega bloks vs the
$1.00 store blocksy's carride fun guy set...

she doesn't care.

it's not her religion...

if you are selling a car do you tell the buyer you farted in it, ruthlessly,
every single day on your way too work?

or that you banged 2 hot chicks 1 night in the back seat...??

how about how your ex really hates you and is likely to bust out the windows
next time she sees the car, because , you know, reasons....

are you telling the buyer al lof this
if not .. why not..?

100% transparent right?

You have a very disrespectful child like demeanor about you and so I question
whether you even meet the age requirements in order to hold a valid account and
participate on this site?

If the grandma doesn't care then why should you feel the need to go to such
trouble as to pass some of it off as Lego when the only Lego your including is
damaged and broken? Why not just describe it as Megablocks and let Grandma decide
if she still wants to buy that? Either way if Grandma doesn't care perhaps
the grand kids who asked Grandma to get them Lego do and yet they're too
polite to tell Grandma that she's actually bought them a load of old rubbish!

100% transparent right?

again completely irrelevant and child like response that does little to strengthen
any rational argument you think you might have and only further puts into question
your suspected age?

but keep talking as I am done here as I have little reason to continue participating
in conversations at this level...

subverting responding to the questions by personally attacking me trying to get
an emotional response...
tisk tisk.....

so you wouldn't tell the car buyer those things.. because, too you, those
aspects are "irrelevant"
....ok....

thought the notion was to be 100% transparency, but that doesn't apply to
you & this imaginary car you are selling... does it

hmmmmm...

but hey, i'm new here, i am sure ol' veterans like yourself are ALLOWED
to be Disrespectful towards me. at least there isn't any forum rules about
behavior towards others like this...

You're "examples" are completely irrelevant and you know it. We're not
saying that you give the entire history of said item, but rather accurately state
what the item is. I don't want to know every person and activity that happened
in a car that I'm looking to purchase. But if there are any current defects
like a stain, broken button, torn seat, etc. I would want to know about those.

Transparency isn't about giving a detailed history of an item, it's giving
an accurate description.

Well. If you insist on pointing out the black hole of empathy, okay, being proud
of false advertisement? That's absolutely beyond the pale

I think it's wrong to try to take advantage of other people like this. You've
judged for yourself that they won't perceive the difference in order to justify
your own behavior. Any description other than 'Play worn LEGO and Off-brand
bricks' or something similar is dishonest.

I think it's wrong to try to take advantage of other people like this. You've
judged for yourself that they won't perceive the difference in order to justify
your own behavior. Any description other than 'Play worn LEGO and Off-brand
bricks' or something similar is dishonest.

Jen

I agree.

I've found good deals on facebook marketplace in my area. I bought an entire
previous seller's inventory off of FB, so getting something described as
Lego mixed with other bricks and having all the Lego unusable would be incredibly
frustrating.

yeah. .what you do is you take all of your F'Lego's & mix them with any
Lego bricks or parts you have that are damaged or too worn / faded to sell individually.

stir that bucket up, make ya Large Priority USPS Flat Rate boxes full of "mixed

I once bought a lot of 30lbs of used vintage bricks on ebay. They turned out
to be the worst of the worst, every single piece bitten, broken, worn or discolored.
When confronted, the seller admitted that this was how they got rid of their
unlistable bricks. They didn't even bother with 'damaged' or 'play-worn'
or 'total garbage' in the listing. Needless to say, I won my request
for a refund.

geez if every single brick in a 30 pound lot was damaged as you describe, it's
odd that listing didn't have pictures on it, .. or even weirder you didn't
bother to ask if you couldn't tell...

so , what you are saying is, if you had bought it - in person - and inspected
the bricks 1st you would not have bought them..
interesting
see it's that - in person - sale i am doing on facebook marketplace, where
the buyer sees & inspects what they are buying before buying it, that you are
avoiding discussing.

Yea, but you just wasted their time and a car trip for them to buy a bunch of
garbage. That would be a serious inconvenience.

I’m having an open mind. I was also tired when I replyed to that anyway. Sorry.

Logic Knots never stop twisting...

just let me know how doing - in-person - sales to people online where they can
inspect what they are buying before buying it is bad..

remember, the people who 'showed you it was a bad idea' Blind-Buy 30
pound lots without ever seeing pictures or asking questions... then complain.

I would rather sell to Grandma who inspects what she is buying before buying
it vs a Lego-Purist who admittingly 'Blind-Buys' bulk lots without knowing
a single thing about what they are buying...

Grandma is schooling you all.. .

but
Forum has dictated that New bricks typically are damaged

so......
uhhhh

i guess it just depends on which corner of the circle you want to inject the

I have a box full of other brands that I will offer up as well on facebook.
I see no need to mention Lego at all, I will just say "used plastic building
blocks from Tyco, Mega bloks and others, no lego at all"

That's honest.

Grandma is babysitting kids, kids are bored, grandma has $20. .
grandma looks on marketplace & sees a box full of building blocks, lego & others
, so she buys it & builds a castle with the kids..
grandma had a awesome time with the kids, kids got to build a castle with grandma..

what exactly is the problem.. ?

used is used, if the buyer sees a box full of blocks - in person - & wants to
buy it for $20... that is their decision... it's not a ' I MAIL IT OUT
, TOO BAD SUCKER' type of scenario which you all are trying to create here

Sorry, but that's completely misleading. When you put a name of a specific
brand in the title of a mixed lot, that is insinuating that the mixed lot is
mostly comprised of said brand. If I purchased a lot of "Lego and Other Bricks"
I'd be very disappointed if less than 70% of the purchase was Lego, and even
more disappointed if of those lego pieces, they were damaged and worn. Are you
lying with that title? Technically, no. Are you being deceptive with that title?
Completely.

Usually I just throw mine in the trash. I don't deal with bulk lots often
enough to have a large quantity of them, and when I do, they're mixed in
with nerf darts, rocks, and who knows what else. Sorting lego takes long enough
without separating and cleaning non-Lego too!

If you have a lot of them, you might contact a local homeless shelter for families
or children's charity. A big supply of f'Legos could be a godsend for
nonprofits that need to keep children occupied while parents work or deal with
other issues. You might also try your local Boys & Girls club since there are
STEM activities that use Legos/f'Legos.

i keep a open flat rate box on the shelf, everytime i run into a F'Lego or
damaged brick, i just toss it in the box, eventually it fills up, sell it for
$20-ish, & just start another..

You should destroy them to prevent someone later having to sort through them.
If you sell them on ebay to Grandma then eventually "Grandma's Lego" will
end up mixed with real Lego and end up at a garage sale and be bought by some
unsuspecting person - like me. I would have to spend hours sorting through them
to see if there were any good ones. I may actually miss a few and sell them
in my store and then have buyers angry at me. Save me the effort and destroy
the fake Legos now that you have already identified them.

🤦🏼‍♂️ I feel like you just want to start arguments, dude. They gave you good
reasons why it’s a bad idea, and instead of having an open mend, you just argue
that your right, and they are wrong. I’m sorry I started this thread in the first
place.

I know you don't believe that, and will assume it's sarcasm. I understand
the so called "purist" mindset, as I'm sure you do too. It's not just
with LEGO that you'll find it, either.

But, I also understand how we can take that purist idea too far, in many ways.

Enjoy your posts

it is interesting to see a Lego-Purist demand 100% transparency about Lego because
it's something involving Lego & they demand 100%
but
when that same Lego-Purist is selling a car, something they probably are not
a Purist in.. to possibly some who is a Auto-Purist.. who would demand 100% transparency
about the car. .the Lego-Purist doesn't care about what the Auto-Purist wants..
because they need to sell that car.
the 100% transparency notion has all of a sudden become.. *Cough* "irrelevant"...

very, very fascinating... indeed

People who are experts in a field generally have higher expectations when it
comes to matters regarding said field.

For example, an auto aficionado might care more about certain specs like the
brand of tire or the engine displacement that most people don't care about.
Some may even go so far as to modify their vehicle or to refurbish older vehicles.

Likewise, many BrickLink sellers and LEGO collectors care about things that the
casual builder might not, like the absence or presence of a groove on certain
pieces or the difference between older and newer grays.

People who raise chickens care very much about the quality of their birds, and
there are even "poultry shows" in which chickens are judged according to official
standards proffered by the American Poultry Association and the like.

There is nothing wrong with having high standards for things which are important
to you.

the problem is when a Purist, in say Lego, demands 100% transparency, but could
care less about 100% transpartency when it comes to other things they are not
fluent in... like say cars.
the other Purist's wants, as in a Auto-Purist who might want to know if a
fart bubble from 2014 is still trapped in the driver's seat.. do not matter

because , reasons

but calling another Purist's possibly 100% transparency demands "irrelevant"
while pounding the podium on their soapbox demanding 100% transparency about
Lego..

well.. it is. um.. revealing

Clean and take to your local homeless shelter. Sadly, you'll find families
in some. Kids just want, in fact need play for development and couldn't give

As to the term you came up with: It is a fun word. But an even better idea is
not to associate in the first place, by incorporating the brand name “LEGO” into
knockoff labeling. Believe it or not, it serves more to strengthen than to denigrate
the idea of alternative products within the marketplace.

-popsicle

Someone else said that too on this thread. I might just do that! (*sigh* this
is all I wanted. Some advice and a few laughs. Not the drama it started 🤦🏼‍♂️)

And, I didn’t want to use it in marketing, I just wanted a new forum word. It’s
much better than saying “knock of fake Lego bricks” or anything like that.
Just “Flego”

I understood. It's not hard to see that you're having some fun with clever
ideas. I like that. But just "a new forum word" or just what-have-you, is still
not the best idea. Things do catch on, especially on the internet.

If it bothers folks overly, the knockoff brands or LEGO-like products, it's
simply better to distance the brand name you'd like to protect. At the very
least, don't attach the name to derogatory term

And I didn’t even think about it being derogatory… 🤦🏼‍♂️ I promise y’all I
don’t cuss! 😂 I’m just going to remove my post from this thread. This has started
too much of a bother lol.

😂

What should I do with my tons and tons and tons of f’legos? 😂
Thanks!

I give the bag of NOTS ( as it is labelled) that contains everything not lego
to my daughter (11yr old) after its been sifted for dangerous and garbage. She
takes what she likes, including nerf darts and marbles, and sometimes the knockoff
bricks. Its then brought to the Value Village Thrift store. I make a donation
and they give me a 20% off coupon for the store, which I promptly use to buy
the next bag of lego or set.

I am a RN who works in pediatric and adolescent mental health. It might have
already been mentioned before, but donating to a children's hospital or local
