HI,

Is it possible to export whole inventory from one store to the other?

I'm asking, because I can buy one BL store which is closing. And I was wondering
if such a transfer was even possible.

If so, will it transfer also remarks? That's were brick's locations are
stored

Thanks for your help

If you go to the "inventory" page on the store you want to download the inventory
from & scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see a "download" option which
will allow you to download your inventory in XML format, which also lets you
reupload them with remarks

You can do the same thing with Brickstore, get the .bsx file from the store you
are purchasing, and mass upload it to your store. You can also modify, remarks,
prices, comments etc. by doing so. Only restriction (or at least advice) is to
upload in reasonable chuncks of data (3-4k lines max at a time).

Thank you

That's quite a big store I have to move (around 10k lots), I won't be
changing any prices.

So it looks like BL tool will handle it better?

The "limit" is not the tool, it's BL upload, and in a general meaning all
web servers that limit the upload size.
Don't try to upload more than say, 500 lots.

Use BrickStore, select 300 lots or such, check the price, change them, upload
them, repeat until done. Soooooo easy!

Maybe suggest to BrickStore’s dev to automatically split the upload (or add a
wizard to do it if human intervention is needed)?

Sure, this can be proposed here:
https://github.com/rgriebl/brickstore/issues

Problem is, the limit is usually in MB (two ?), not number of lots, so may vary
(depending server maybe, but items ref or qty length, whatever).

Which is this number of lots, I don't know.
But BL will reject the upload/update if too much.

I guess few people upload WL or shop inventory of thousands of lots...
I'm not sure it's worth an automation, IMHO here.

IMO, everything is worth an automation.

People who like to work uselessly:
— First time: do task.
— Second time: do task.
— …: do task forever.

Smart people:
— First time: do task.
— Second time: do task again.
— Third time: Wait a second.  Will there be other times?  Let’s automatize.

Me:
— First time: Stop!  Shouldn’t that be automatized?

I can move at one time?

If I want to upload it, do I go to? My store - Upload?

I went to upload page, but got that error

I didn't use any software, I just tried to copy text to the window above.
Do I need to use external software?

I won't be changing prices, or number of items

Can you post a screenshot of the error message?

Sometimes, it doesn't work because the XML code is invalid. Other times,
it doesn't work because there are too many lots.

My Store -- Mass Upload

Copy and paste the XML code into the text box, click verify

If it doesn't work, try breaking it into smaller chunks

Thaks for your quick reply

All that was missing was closing line
  [/INVENTORY]

That did the job

As you all mentioned above, I won't be able to add more thatn 300-400 lots
at the same time?
I will have to be adding them in smaller batches?

BTW.
I don't know why but I couldn't add second picture to that post.

Yes. BrickLink is an old website, server capacity is limited, trying to upload
too many lots at once will cause it to crash/time out.

works fine. I tried with 150 lots and it all went smoothly

Thank you all for your help
