See instructions, where the part is depicted with a metallic shine, like other pearl parts of that era.

I don’t think this part is Pearl Black. I can only find EID 4171833 for this
helmet in basic Black.

See instructions, where the part is depicted with a metallic shine, like other pearl parts of that era.

First off, instructions are not a reliable source of anything related to part
colors or variations.

Second, it just looks reflective to me, not metallic. Is this what you are seeing?

It is very clearly depicted differently from the other black parts, but yes,
instructions may not always be accurate. Looking at 8012, it depicts the set
entirely matte...

Where is the 4171833 ID from?

Though the helmet may not be Pearl Black, I believe there is another hidden secret
in this set.

See instructions, where the part is depicted with a metallic shine, like other pearl parts of that era.

Update:
The part does not appear in the currently accessible replacement parts system.
While 4171833 is likely the right ID, and is listed as black, the same source
also lists 4200789 as black, even though LEGO's replacement parts system
lists it as pearl black.

I have reached out to a source at LEGO to be able to settle this, as they have
a less restricted access to the database. Response may be a while.

Ok, got confirmation that it is listed as 26 Black.

I will still try to see what the other ID 4195031 is. I'm not sure if it
is Black or Pearl Black.

Well, we know 44815/4200789 is Pearl Black, and 44815/4525189 is Black. I wonder
if 4195031 is the original six-hole mask?
