| Hi Bricklink,
I am a new-ish store, and I just don't know that much about Star Wars (please
don't hate ), so I don't buy or invest in much of it but I see whole
stores devoted to Star Wars Lego. Is it pretty much a requirement to have Star
Wars as part of my inventory in order to get a lot of sales? Or is it overly
saturated already? Just wondering If I have to learn a whole new thing...
Thanks for any advice,

There are plenty of stores that don't have Star Wars.

Of course you can be profitable without Star Wars. The reason why there are so
many stores devoted to it is because you can hardly go anywhere and not see something
Star Wars-related. Star Wars has such a big fanbase and so does LEGO, so people
know that if they put any LEGO Star Wars product up for sale they know that they
will have buyers. I myself am a huge Star Wars fan, so I mainly buy Star Wars.
I feel like Star Wars is one of those themes that “fills your plate” so to speak:
from what I’ve encountered, LSW fans usually don’t buy other themes because of
how much LSW products there are. The same can go for LEGO Harry Potter or LEGO
Marvel/DC.

| Star Wars is a good theme and it attracts customers. But it isn't something
you NEED to have. Other themes make sales as well. Like city and Marvel.

Star Wars minifigures sell well. It seems some folks just need to have the whole
set. But personally, I don't go out of my way to part out Star wars sets.
Most sets are going to leave you with tons of wedge plates in white and gray,
that don't sell fast.

There are stores devoted to many things: Star Wars, Technic, Ninjago, parts,
sets, minifigures, etc.
You can definitely run a profitable store without selling any Star Wars merchandise.

| Yes you can. I say invest in what you like just keep up quality and service.
Lego has a lot of variation so go with what you like.
