Hi Bricklink,

Anyone know a good place to find Akro-Mils 64 drawer cabinets? I have had repeated,
horrible issues buying them from both Walmart and Home Depot, and I don't
use Amazon. Is Ebay a trustworthy enough source? Any other ideas?

Much appreciated,

Upstate_Brickz

Not broken, they usually never come. I bought from walmart and it never arrived.
It was a bad 3rd party seller and there was a whole bunch of nonsense about how
they listed it but never had it. With home depot it was lost for weeks both times
I tried to buy them. I got one but not the other. At least I got the two refunds.

Did you have any problems with them? I saw that they had them for a good price
but heard very bad customer service reviews.

Try Facebook market place. It works well with furniture.

I just bought some small parts storage bins from Lowes, Craftsman brand, reasonably
priced. Great for storing small parts of which I suddenly seem to have a lot
of.

Lol, can't imagine why? Hmm... a different brand, maybe I could start them
on a separate wall. Not a bad idea

I should think eBay had better be trusted; PayPal owns them (or did a couple
of years back). In any case, eBay has buyer protection.

Persusal of said site:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=Akro+mils+64&_sacat=0

Just checked Amazon, too - my initial suggestion was going to be to get a third
party that you trust to buy it off Amazon, then over to you - turns out that
eBay has slightly better deals, within say $5-10 less. Depends on the seller
though. Don't forget to check their recent FB.

And just to round it out, the source:

Actually, eBay acquired PayPal in 2002 then spun it off into its own company
in 2014. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PayPal

Keep an eye on Craigslist for the Akro Mils drawers. I see them every couple
of weeks here in the Seattle area.

I have a mix of Acro Mils, Harbor Freight, and other brands. Even some of the
older metal Akro Mils units.

Since some of the parts drawers were used, they had scratches, discoloration,
etc. and were 5 or 6 different color combinations.

A coat of Rustoleum Universal Hammered Metal and they blend together nicely.

+1
I've not had any issue with Amazon either.

Additionally there are not a lot of tray dividers that come with the case. These
are a tight fit and work really well.

I am a do-it-yourself(er). I can't help it. I really don't like buying
what I can build. That often means I do without for a while, or forever sometimes.
These are double stacked and are pretty heavy when loaded. I have 14 of them...
I need more.

Yes. This is a 1x6 technic brick and it is true to scale and build. It is made
of MDF and PVC pipe. It was a lot of fun to build.

I also made the gears which are of the same scale. I didn't finish the back
side since they are wall art.

The scissors are for scale.
