Plus iPhone, now?

I know next to nothing of consumer electronics, other than they quickly can become
outdated, even these high-end devices. Is it worth trying to sell or trade?

Anyone have experience with this type of thing? I’m reluctant to toss it into
our box of no-longer-used electronics, especially in the pristine condition it’s
in.

Any advise appreciated.

-Thanks

Apple products always retain some value, I usually sell my old phones on FB Marketplace/ebay
after making sure it's fully wiped and reset. It doesn't cover the cost
of a newer one but it does help

Did the wipe/reset thing.

My son plays around over on FB marketplace, maybe I'll just let him try and
do something with it, give the proceeds to his sister.

I appreciate the advise. Thanks, Ryan.

Don't know about the 2nd hand market in the US is, but in the Netherlands
there is still a demand.

Depending on the type and in good condition if would be priced somewhere between
€100 (16GB) and €150 (128GB)

They are always good to sell. It's best to wipe all data from the phone and
make sure it isn't apple id locked and has find my location turned off or
something similar. It is usually worth the time you put into it but it might
be best to watch a youtube video for a better explanation or steps to take before
selling it

Did the entire Erase Data and Reset steps, returning the iPhone to factory settings
quick and easy enough. I'll assume the "find my location/turned off" question
was addressed in the process too. I appreciate the advise, thank you.

I think that should work. It is generally good to disable it otherwise the receiver
of the phone might not be able to sign in at all. (I do apologize in advance
if I missed any settings are there which need to be reset on their own but I
don't think there are.) Also, I would confirm you also signed out of iCloud
and iTunes to be on the safe side. Here is a page from Apple with better steps
than I could explain.

I better have a look those too. Thanks!

For someone who says "I know next to nothing of consumer electronics" you're
learning surprisingly quick. The future is looking bright for you!

I'd like to think that I'm just that intelligent I'm not. The credit
goes to some here and Apple that made it childishly simple, even for me. The
process took less than 5 mins, it actually took more time trying to recall our
Apple ID and password.

The future is looking bright for you!

Thanks. I'll take 'that' observation any day of the week.

I bought one only 2 years ago, as a back up.

Did its job and I had to pay a good buck.
Wipe it and sell it, right away.
Stay Cool.
