| What is the object that I have circled in this image supposed to be? To me it
looks like a woman's handbag, ie a purse.

Presumably the car comes with a somewhat fancy duffel bag that holds the jack,
tire iron, and any other tools.

Some in my family joked about my grandfather saying he chose his car (Škoda I
think, it was the 1980s and was young) more for the toolcase it came with than
the car.
And this toolbag seems¹ to be worth more than what he paid at the time 
¹ I opened that URL… just had time to see £1580 or something then it was covered
in popups about cookies and newsletters and I closed the page.
