| Hi Everyone,
As in the title I'm wondering how everyone decides what mix/blend of stock
you keep? Do you buy at a specific market (If so how do you identify what you
buy?)? Specific components? Target buy or sell price?
Cheers, Joe

Thanks Heinz, I don't have a lot of Technic for selling purposes. I have
a fair bit for investing/building though. Loving the Defender at the moment!

You are less likely to make errors if you sell what you know about. You are also
more likely to know which parts in used lots are valuable (whether to sell, or
for yourself) with experience. Sell for a year and see what you enjoy handling,
what sells well for you and what you can easily pick up.
I imagine many sellers would like to focus on rare and high value minifigures
as they are in demand, high value, quick to pick, easy to ship, and so on. But
buying them in quantity at low prices is not easy.

Thanks Yorbrick. Seems even harder to get good bulk minifigs in the UK than the
US too for some reason.

That's pretty much most of what I'm trying to do, but I'm thinking
that it would be a good idea to throw some less profitable stuff in the mix as
it may mean people can't get them many other places, and while they're
looking might buy the more profitable stuff. Like maybe part out a set that's
usually only for investment/building?

Definitely part out what I like as it means I'll just build if it won't
sell. Thinking of parting out Baracuda Bay ...

| One could go for specific themes and such and parts but i do believe if you go
for a wide mix and variety it will bring more alert and focus to your store but
specific themed and parts is also one way to go
We go for a more variety or at least try too

Thank you - I think I've fallen into the variety side too, so good to see
that I'm hopefully on the right track!

I have two lines which I am trying to focus on- Vintage and small sets/minifigs.
The small sets sell well at in-person craft and vender sales and the vintage
sells better on-line. That being said I have a lot of loose everything parts
that are slowly being added to inventory because most of what I buy is mixed
collections with vintage lego and modern (Parents old stuff and their adult kids
newer sets). I use my loose parts to complete the smaller sets I pull from the
collections. This does make for a fair bit of necessary storage but its a labour
of love, Right?

Thanks Sterra, I can't bring myself to start with loose parts yet. It took
me long enough to move from investment to parting out, and I didn't think
I'd ever get that far
