I can't find anything but is it expected that all bricks sold here are authentic
Lego or will the seller state whether they sell non-Lego bricks?

I just got an order that I assumed was going to be authentic Lego (I am new here)
but it was not. I don't want to leave negative feedback if I missed something
and it was my fault for not seeing a statement or mention that bricks might not
be authentic Lego.

You are correct, this is a Lego only site. I would first reach out to the seller
before leaving feedback. Most will resolve the problem and send new parts or
refund as necessary.

Why do you feel the parts you received weren't authentic? If you are looking
for the Lego logo, this is not always a good indicator. Reach out first.

Everything sold here should be authentic Lego (though I believe custom stickers
are still permitted). There definitely should not be any non-Lego bricks for
sale here, although sellers can make mistakes. For example, I found non-Lego
minifigure legs in my inventory recently while pulling an order together. It
happens!

I'd encourage you to:

- post pictures of the parts you think are not Lego here, to confirm (not every
Lego part has a logo, especially older parts from before microprinting)
- if the bricks are not authentic Lego, reach out to the seller and ask him or
her to send you real bricks or a refund

Hope this helps, and welcome to BrickLink!

Are you 100% sure the pieces are not lego? There is a misconception that all
Lego pieces will have the lego logo, and that is NOT TRUE. There are many pieces
(especially smaller ones) that do not have the logo.

Agreed, sometimes only marked with a ‘C’, a number or not at all.
Known for not being marked are lightsaber blades/bars, Star Wars guns and even
Super Battle Droids etc.

I am fairly confident that they are not Lego. I have multiples pieces of what
should be the exact same pieces from two different sellers. From one seller,
the stud has the Lego logo on top and there is a single, solid tube on the bottom.
From the other seller, the color is the same but there is no logo on the stud
on the top, the tube is hollow on the bottom, and there is actually a small divit
in one of the two studs on top like the generic red 1x2 part in this image: https://miro.medium.com/max/1400/1*ZvRPJLXkU40lv9tkWBImMg.jpeg

The orderd part was: Part 3004 Dark Tan: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3004#T=P&C=69

Is this common or possible?

Sounds fake for 3004 dark tan, they should all have the logo on the studs for
these pieces.

However you can get hollow tube Lego for some items.

Indeed, LEGO studs all have a logo (on top full studs and at the bottom of hollow
studs, only the completely open studs can’t for obvious reasons have the logo
on the stud).

Thing is, as the others said, some small or older parts (without studs) don’t
have a LEGO logo anywhere and new users often don’t know that, so we get a few
“Not LEGO!” messages for such parts.  That’s why their reaction was “are you
sure.”

Now, sadly, we are sure.

  Is this common or possible?

Not common, not allowed… but still possible a seller missed them in Used stuff
(harder to miss it with New stuff).

Please talk to the seller about resolving the issue.  And if that doesn’t work,
please report the member on https://www.bricklink.com/problemMember.asp or their
listings on https://www.bricklink.com/problemInventory.asp

Looking at the seller's feedback, it does show 4 negative feedbacks in 2022
for fake lego bricks.

4 in two months? That's pretty bad. I'd contact the seller about this
issue.

It is possible yes, it is not at all common. While there are 1xN bricks with
hollow tubes (I've seen them in 1x4 and 1x6 for sure) the chance that there
is a 1x2 brick with no logo on the studs and a sprue mark on top (the divot to
which you refer) is incredibly small.

The fact that the store has been suspended shouldn't deter you from asking
for a refund. I'd encourage you to file an NSS alert and a PayPal claim.

Looks like that seller's store was just suspended for violating ToS.

This store was highlighted a couples of weeks ago in an other post for the same
problem. It was deleted by the OP, but I guess it was long enough for the admin
to be alerted.

What an unfortunate welcome to bricklink for you. I would guess that 99% or more
stores never sell non-LEGO except in rare accidents and if they do, they quickly
refund. As you can see how quickly this seller has been removed. You should be
able to win a PayPal claim after you file an nss
