Welp it's happen. I recieved my first negative feedback today. The thing
is is it is completely unwarranted and does not make sence based on what they
ordered. They said shipping took too long but I shipped according to my listed
terms ordered on 2/7 and delivered 2/17 and they said the pieces were worn and
dirty when they only ordered one minifigure which was listed according to bricklink's
policy and was most certainly not worn and in good condition. They never messaged
me with an issue or anything. Is there any way to contest this as they are a
new bricklinker or am I really getting thrown in the mud by some new guy?

How should I handle this?

The feedback won't be removed by BL.
All you can do is get in touch with the buyer and find out exactly what was wrong
and see if you can work out a solution e.g refund/partial refund etc.

The buyers feedback says "worn and lose". That sounds like an arm won't
stay in position and flops back down, or something similar. Can you be absolutely
sure that the minifig didn't have an issue like that?

Get in touch with the buyer and see what you can do.

Yes I test all minifigures arms. If it is excessively loose, I will mention.
I also check for cracks and excessive wear and tear i.e. anything noticeable.
He did say lose though I don't know if he can't spell or he meant loose.
Either way I know the figure was find.

But how can I handle it. Like can I offer to refund if he removes the feedback
or is that against bricklink policy or is it even enforceable?

You can definitely offer him a refund if he agrees to remove the feedback and
there is a good chance he will accept. You will not be breaking any rules here
by making the offer. I would first ask him what the issues are and then apologize
if the minifig did not meet his expectations and then make the offer. Most buyers
here are understanding and willing to work with you as long as you treat them
well and offering a refund would definitely show the customer that you take customer
satisfaction seriously.

On a side note if he does not agree to remove it then I would not worry about
it. People will not stop shopping in your store because of just one negative.
Some stores here have dozens of negatives and still get plenty of people shopping
in their store.

I agree with what Gaston.La.Brick mentions about how a couple of bad feedbacks
dont really mean a lot, especially when the majority of other feedbacks are positive.
I also strongly recommend following his advice on not leaving a negative feedback
in retaliation. Retaliatory negative feedbacks, I think hurt a stores reputation
more then the negative feedbacks they receive. I know sometimes a return negative
or neutral may be justified and that is fine, I just hate the stores that leave
retaliatory feedbacks for every one they receive - I will not shop in their stores.

I think you're plain wrong, sorry.

This is a financial transaction to change the feedback, it's not allowed:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=97&q=extortion

Buyers must not demand additional goods, services or refunds over and above
what was agreed in the original transaction with the threat of negative Feedback
if the seller does not comply. Sellers are not allowed to require buyers to leave
positive Feedback or revise existing Feedback in exchange for shipping items,
completing refund requests or providing monetary compensation.

As a seller:

Sellers are, however, allowed to ask the buyer to leave positive Feedback
at the end of a successful transaction.

Interesting, I had not seen that before. I agree that I was plain wrong! The
way I was suggesting was for the seller to give the refund only in exchange for
the buyer changing his feedback and that would definitely fall break the rules
where it states that a seller is not allowed to require a customer to "revise
existing Feedback in exchange for... providing monetary compensation". - Thank
you for the correction.

The one way it could work is if the seller just gave a refund but did not require
the buyer to change his feedback in order to get the refund and then after giving
the refund he asked the buyer if he would consider changing his feedback, then
I think that would be okay because now the refund does not require changing the
feedback.

100% agreed on this; refund or fix the problem the best you can, then
kindly ask for comprehension. You can't do more.

It stings; I know. The feedback system is really bad. But it's partially
also due to the fact how we treat negative feedback. It keeps on surprising me,
we are - as a seller - so hooked on the 100% positive feedback, where a 90% feedback
score in most other webshops would be considered "Awesome!". So why would one
or two negative feedbacks from time to time have to mean a lot, when the majority
of other feedback is positive? It's no judgement on you though: me too, I
feel bad I get one or two negatives.

My advice: let it go. Leave a reply to the negative feedback, saying something
like "I'm sorry you didn't contact me for sorting this out. All the best."
or something similar.
Definitely don't leave negative feedback as retaliation. You think it will
make you feel better, but it won't. It's what it is and move on.

(But to be sure, I have put that buyer on my stop list

What makes it worst is the amount of people that leave positive feedback about
how fast my shipping is....

How should I handle this?

I guess first and foremost as the listed description goes I've noticed that
individuals opinions can wildly vary on condition. Did you list it as "NEW" or
another description type?

With a bottle of Whiskey, while not abusing

Otherwise:

* Simply Reply and forget it - you'll have more of those if you continue
selling, sometimes it's just not working the easy way.

* Talk with the buyer, discuss the various problems - refund something if he
can be right on this - and kindly say you'd then appreciate him to remove
the Negative (no pressure!)

* Give him any Feedback you wish: if it's not pure retaliation, you think
he's wrong and it's a bad experience, then a Negative is acceptable.
It may have consequences including chasing him from BrickLink, think twice or
even 777 times. Or a Neutral. Or no feedback at all - and stop-list why not.

All in all - talking is the key, and if it doesn't work, I'd be you I'd
forget.

I have got about 15 of them but they all removed them after I messaged them.

You should send a very good and professional message.
Instead of writing "why didn't you read my terms" or... to blame them, play

I usually explain its normal to ASK OR SAY SOMETHING before leaving feedback.
Ask him if he will change it if you refund him.

I will get hate but I disagree about also leaving a neg, BUT I DO IT AFTER they
agree to do it and don't follow through. Make sure you also reply to the
neg.
