| I have had a few buyers contact me about getting a "no shipping method available"
message when trying to order small parts, and it's also not triggering the
next shipping option (e.g. parcel for oversized) nor even a manual invoice.
Another buyer was trying to order a couple of minifigures which should fit it
my letter mail option, but this one triggered a parcel mail. I had to go through
all of my minifigure inventory, and a couple of random minifigures triggered
the parcel shipping option, and don't know what's causing it. My temporary
fix was to enter some random dimentions, save, then go back to delete the dimentions,
and then the minifigure fit the letter mail option.
Anyone else getting the same shipping problems? I see some other forum posts
about other shipping system errors but can't find how to resolve this!
Thanks in advance.

Hi, you either have the "show instant shipping only to first time buyers " setting
clicked ( Management in settings) which doesn't allow any new buyers to purchase
items which may be marked as manual OR you do not have any manual options for
shipping . These are usually what sends the error message to a buyer. I get them
frequently. I just turn off the setting and tell the buyer it's fixed. Then
when they complete the purchase, I turn it back on. I have several manual shipping
options, so it's usually the setting that sends the error. Otherwise if you
do not have onsite shipping set up, then no buyer in the US can purchase from
you as BL collects state tax on all US Orders.

Hi - you're right, I have instant shipping only for first time buyers. Wondering
about your setup of some manual shipping options - do you have an automated and
a manual invoice shipping setup for the same 'method'? If I setup both,
then would the 'instant shipping for first time buyers' override the
manual option?
Also, could I ask you about your comment on US purchases - I have noticed all
US orders have stopped since I started doing automated payments. When you mentioned
"you do not have onsite shipping setup" , do you mean I should have one automatic
method, and also setup a separate manual shipping method?
Thanks again for your help!

Yes, I offer both instant checkout and. manual invoice for First Class (US) Package
service and I offer manual priority mail (US) package. I did have instant checkout
priority but lately I am finding more want the manual so I turned off the instant
priority temporarily.
If you set up both, then turning on the setting for instant checkout to new buyers
overrides any manual checkout, unless you turn it off for a specific buyer (which
is what I do).
BL collects US tax on all states which require state tax to be collected ( a
few do not). If you don't have onsite payment (meaning the buyer pays onsite)
, then no US buyer can purchase in your store because BL cannot collect the tax.
I used to allow offsite payment ( sent the buyer my PP email address in the invoice)
but now I just direct them to pay onsite at BL. There is information here on
the BL site - https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=18&q=onsite+payment
I would recommend you chat with other Canadian sellers about how to get more
US buyers. I don't know what it costs to send parts from Canada to the US.
Feel free to message me off the forum if I haven't answered your q's.
You are welcome to take a look at my store as well for shipping options. Happy
to help

Thanks again for a detailed response, this is super helpful. I have onsite payment
with Paypal options for both domestic and international, so hope that remains
open for US buyers. Just so concerned now as to why sales had suddenly dropped
off and have two separates buyers that had shipping issues.
I will certainly take you up on your offer to answer more of my questions! Thanks
in advance and will send you off the forum when I have some more

Looks like the OP has Onsite payment enabled.

We had the same issue here BUT with sets which we had a option set up to request
a quote. It was working find till the other day. Guessing BL changed something.
We find a work around and that was to delete the request a quote shipping option.
And the Bricklink system took the order etc and we had to manual fill in the
invoice and send the invoice...

I suspect the same, that BL changed something, and at the same time I also adjust
some of my shipping options, but can't pin point what might have triggered
the error. Have been very fortunate with the two buyers who were so patient and
understanding, as I had to manual adjust parts, and they ended up purchasing
what they needed. Hoping this gets fixed soon as I don't know how many other
potential buyers would have just left the store without trying to contact me

I asked a similar question the other day (and filed a help desk ticket with Bricklink):
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1325283
As you say, several other people have the same problem.
The ticket hasn't been fixed and I'm not aware of any solution.
I've gone from having several orders a day to almost nothing except large
orders, so the problem is really putting off buyers. My average order value was
around £15-£20 but this week it's nearer £50!

I also sent a message to Bricklink's help desk last night, as it appears
others are having issues too. I've been reading about dimension changes,
from mm to cm, and suspect it could be one of the causes , and have asked Bricklink
about this, no response as of yet. My sales suddenly stopped in the middle of
the month, and I couldn't figure out why. This is just insane if Bricklink
made changes and are not responding to complaints!
