Hi all,

When I purchased the King's Mountain Fortress (6081) in 1991, I was always
puzzled by this clearly flawed maiden torso.
Has anyone ever seen this version before?

Quite a while ago someone posted about this Blacktron torso with a similar misprint

Part No: 973p52c01 Name: Torso Space White Harness and Chest Panel with Rivets Pattern (Blacktron I) / Black Arms / Black Hands
*
973p52c01 (Inv) Torso Space White Harness and Chest Panel with Rivets Pattern (Blacktron I) / Black Arms / Black Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor.

It made me wonder if there was a whole string of torsos that came out like that
or if it was just a one-off that came into the printer misaligned, got printed
twice, then kicked out.

I can only think of three ways this could happen

1 : The printing pad is misaligned

2 : The fixture holding the torso is misaligned

3 : The torso is inserted wrongly in the fixture

I think 1%2 might produce a load of wrongly printed torsos and 3 only happens
to a single torso

Also, I think that with multiple colours, several different pads are used and
I doubt all could be misaligned like that

Cheers,

Ole

I think the third option must be the case here since the layers of printing are
not aligned with one another - e.g. the lace on the bodice (red) is not aligned
with the rest:
