| I'm on a fact finding mission: Has anyone recently (December 2021) shipped
minifigures to Florida, only to have them arrive to your buyer missing or damaged?
Over the past two weeks, I have had multiple orders pass through USPS facilities
in Florida that, upon delivery to my buyers, had the packaging damaged (as is,
ripped open and resealed) and minifigures missing from the shipment (but other
pieces intact).
I feel like my own data points are not statistically significant to point to
anything large and nefarious, so if this has happened to you recently, I'd
like to hear about it.

I'm in central Florida, no missing minifigs, but I received a snow globe
via USPS in horrific condition. Package was clearly labeled fragile, package
was torn apart to the point the globe box was in pieces and the foam packing
was destroyed. Luckily the globe wasn't brokenn though.

It’s occurred both with small bubble mailers (4x6) and larger paper envelopes.

I ship everything in cardboard boxes, the smallest being able to carry two minifigs
(and was designed for a cassette tape). A week back, I received a used/reconditioned
iPhone. It was packed in a bubble envelope, and wrapped in bubble wrap. It arrived
with a 5-10 degree bend in the frame (presumably caused by USPS handling). I
sent it back, and received a refund. USPS seems to be taking the view that if
external packaging can be squeezed and squashed, then so be it !

Same here. I've never had a complaint of damaged goods or opened packaging.

I cannot speak to shipping from Florida but I have been shipping regularly from
Massachusetts - most of my packages are 4x6 bubbles , some 7 x9 s and larger.
I take extra precautions and use foam or extra bubble wrap to make sure the
minifigs or parts are not bouncing around in the packages . I haven't had
any complaint for damages and many of my buyers comment on the extra padding
in a very positive way. I also add some packing tape to the outside seal so it
is not likely to open. Either the package handlers are really rough in Florida
or there is theft. One further step I take is to not use Paypal or other branded
labels - I use Pirate ship and only my store name is on it in tiny letters.

IMHO, the issue is a combination of USPS sorting equipment, combined with the
volume of mail/packages flowing into Florida. Many of the packages I received
are only handled by USPS for the last mile. All the others are handled by freight
consolidators, and injected into USPS close to the destination.
