Why do all carry the 18+ recommended age disclaimer? Is it some correlation to
BrickLink’s age requirement for membership? The sets themselves don’t appear
to merit the age recommendation

Just curious

Maybe the age required for the site or to go along with the age requirements,
on the aimed at adult sets ,of the black box series.

The sets DO merit the age recommendation. The target audience is adult fans.

Okay. I’ve always assumed that the age recommendation disclaimer for toys was
directed at other considerations, such as play difficulty, theme, risk, etc.
Not market demographics.

Good to learn new things. Gonna stop assuming at some point, too

They should really be 50+, given that Sesame Street is 18+.

I think Sesame Street's being 18+ is normal. My older kids (20+) grew up
with it but my younger kids barely know what it is - there is zero nostalgia
in it for them.

The first time I saw 18+ on the Sesame Street set, I thought it was because Elmo
doesn't wear pants.
