Now that v1 of the inventory details form has been removed (that was a sad day
requiring a lot of extra work to migrate to), please the two bugs related to
custom images:
1) The custom image is shown using a fixed width/height aspect ratio which warps
all images not having that aspect (which is almost all).
2) When clicking the custom image, the catalog image is shown instead of the
custom image on the overlay.
Those are two really annoying things and they have been around for ages and these
were the primary reason I didn't use the v2 form.

The second one is now also fixed. Please clear your cache to make sure the images
will load correctly.
