Thanks

Good question. I haven't buying ANYTHING this year outside the EU so I cannot
help, but from what I've heard, if the store retains the VAT, then you will
not have any issues. In the extreme case your parcel is stuck at customs, just
send the invoice and the customs will release your package.
Hope this helps.

While many marketplaces, sellers and mail companies still seem to be learning
what to do the only certain way is to move to the country you are buying from!
Hopefully it will settle down in the near future. I buy quite a lot of electronic
parts from China/Malaysia, and aliexpress seems to have got their systems working
properly so that sellers provide the correct documentation and I've not had
a problem when importing. Whereas reports here indicate that other sites (incluing
BL) are having problems, although of course the issue may be over inflated as
only problems get reported.

BL just gives us the PDF VAT invoice, not the IOSS number... I think in july
it was there on top too, but disappeared after a site update:
PD: IDK if what was shown in july was the UK IOSS or the EU IOSS and that is
why it got removed.
