| I have two shipping methods set up - USPS Retail Ground and Media Mail. I have
Media Mail available for books and catalogs in my inventory but sometimes buyers
choose it as a shipping method for parts/sets. Is there a way I can block this
or should I remove the Media Mail option?

Personally I would remove it and if you use Media mail you can always refund
the buyer the difference. I also have a manual method for this type of situation,
although the people who use my manual method often use it incorrectly.

Because Media Mail is cheaper than USPS Ground, it will show up as the default
method to buyers. I would recommend putting a note in your terms or in the
comments section of the books in your store that Media Mail is available by request,
and you can just invoice it. I would also recommend changing your shipping to
include First Class Packages as it is cheaper than USPS Ground for packages under
1lb. (Usually around $3.25-$4.00). Also, if you use Pirate Ship for your shipping
rather than PayPal Ship Station, I would recommend checking the cost difference
between UPS Ground and USPS Ground as UPS is sometimes cheaper for ground shipping.

How often do you ship books and catalogues? If not very often, I'd remove
it and let buyers either ask for a quote, or refund if they overpay for shipping.

For us we have in our terms you request a quote, that way we can invoice them
for media mail that way and it avoids the mess of refunds etc..
