Hello guys. Today I decided to try reassembling a 22 years old Droideka, one
of those old technic models. While doing so, I noticed some of the numbers on
the technic axles do not match. What I mean is, there are some axles with the
same size, but different numbers! I always thought they were numbered according
to their sizes. What am I missing here? Obviously some of the axles are not from
the original set, hence the difference in numbering, but I never thought there
would be these differences even across multiple sets. This feels weird, is there
an explanation to it?

they could be numbers for production tracing and QA, especially for things before
year 2000
