Part No: 2847c02 Name: Electric 9V Battery Box 4 x 14 x 4 with Red Buttons and Contact Plate with Yellow Base (2846 / 2847c00)

2847c02 (Inv) Electric 9V Battery Box 4 x 14 x 4 with Red Buttons and Contact Plate with Yellow Base (2846 / 2847c00)
Parts: Electric, Battery Box {Black}

Has anyone ever tried running it with NiMh batteries ? They are typically 1.25v,
so six would yield only 7.5v instead of the desired 8.5-9.0v, but they are rechargeable.

I've not used that specific one, but usually motors run fine on a slightly
lower voltage, just a bit slower no load speed and lower torque when loaded compared
to fresh batteries giving 9V.

I've used them and they'll get the job done but as Yorbrick states the
torque will be perceptibly lower but not non-existent. Rechargeable lithiums
deliver 1.5V if you can find them. They're tough to find in stores even
during normal times.

they are 1.2 in practice
you'll get 7.2, which is near the level of non pushing the motor enough to
run.

one extra and you reach 8.4 which is right.
This is achievable only in recent years, when they finally made half batteries:
1/2AAA
1/3AA
2/3AA
N-form
I never tested the idea through
