| This post is to help sellers more easily give the buyers the tracking number.
I recently placed a few orders, the sellers did their part, invoiced, packaged,
shipped and provided a tracking number.
A couple of the sellers manually added the tracking number to the drive thru
or sent me a separate message with the tracking number. While everything was
good, the process to deliver the tracking number could be better.
See screenshots with instructions.
There is a setting to allow sellers to enter the tracking number directly into
the order, click on "customize display" link on the orders tab. If you don't
see "customize display" click on the "all" link to see all of your orders.
Next, check the box next to tracking number and click "submit changes".
Go back to your orders page and the "tracking number" column will be active.
After you put a tracking number into this box, it will display on your buyers
order (see second image).

Another tip, I use the tracking number field to track if I have purchased postage
for an order.

If you don't want the long text field extending your Orders Received page,
you can also add the tracking number on the Edit Order page.

I think it's important to point out that if you put the tracking number on
the order, either by editing the order on the order detail page, or displaying
the tracking number on the orders received page, you can insert it into the drive
thru email automatically with the use of a macro.

I don't buy on BL very often, but less than 50 percent of sellers have provided
me with the tracking number. It' slightly annoying, but no cause for alarm
unless the delivery time seems to take more days than I expect.
I always provide the tracking number to my buyers on the Orders page so that
it is permanently attached to the order and easy to find without having to search
thru emails.
