I started collecting the Lego village sets a little late. I was wondering if
I was to purchase all the individual lego parts for certain sets via brick link
or lego, would it be as expensive as buying the set at today price or is it.

It is normally cheaper to buy a complete set rather than all the individual pieces
in the same condition.

I also started a little late.

I’m in the UK which I think makes it more expensive to buy the complete sets.
If you want to part it out with every single piece I think it would work out
more expensive. I have compromised by not buying many of the set specific pieces
and using a more widely available (thus cheaper) alternative e.g from Santa’s
Workshop (10245) I don’t have the specially printed pieces for the larger reindeer
(Tan brick with eyes and Tan slope with fur).

So far I have ‘completed’ Santa’s workshop, Winter Village Bakery, and, Winter
Village Post Office. I am close to finishing Winter Holiday Train.

It takes a bit of time, if you’re happy to invest time it is quite nice. If you’re
interested I could give you a few tips I have picked up along the way but don’t
want to bore you if of no interest
