We bought a big box of lego and we find parts we can't place in a sett. There
are some booklets included that was mostly starwars stuff, but not all booklets
are here. Can you help me determine in what sett the parts could go ?

a part belongs to, if I dont know the name of that part?

I still don't know if it is possible for me to find the number of an item
in the situation I have no idea what is is. Is there a way?

In the meantime i'm looking into these things. If I can look up the partnumer
myself let me know, otherwise I would apreciate if you could tell me what is
is so I can try to find the set it belongs to.

There is a 4-5 digit number molded into the plastic of most LEGO. Get a good
light and probably a small magnifier. Type the number into a Catalog search with
an * right after it.

Example 43898* to find all the parts in our catalog based on that LEGO mold.

Once you've found a part, go and look at what sets that part appears in.
(Information available on the Catalog Detail pages.) Scroll through the inventories
to find other parts from the same batch.

Once you've had some practice, do some exploring from the Color Guide and
see where that gets you.

Hello,

I found the numbers and it helped us find many sets. thanks! never knew

but how do you find parts that have stickers? I remember that I have seen a list
of an item with stickers, but I cant find ik this time.

for example: 15068

I have these with two distinct stickers on it that hopefully can help me find
a set. But where can i find these parts with the sticker on it?

The basic strategy is to look for the base part number of the stickered part.
For this stickered part:

 
Part No: 15068pb063 Name: Slope, Curved 2 x 2 x 2/3 with 'AIR' and 'BORNE' Pattern (Sticker) - Set 60113

The base part is:

So you can start looking for "15068*" where the wildcard symbol catches all the
part numbers that start with "15068".

If there are too many results, you can filter by color in More Options:

After a while, you'll start noticing the naming patterns for the stickers,
and you will be able to refine your search to the actual picture of the sticker.
If a sticker has something written on it, it will be in the catalog item name,
for example.
