A very rough guide for retail items globally is that the manufacturer (ie the
brand owner, not necessarily the owner of the factory that makes for them) receives
around 50% of the retail price - in reality this varies hugely, but packaging,
distribution and retail are all significant costs.
We know Lego's 2020 revenues were around €5.9bn and profits were around €1.1bn.
If we assume their revenues were based on €11.8bn of sales then profit per set
was around 10% of retail cost.
This is just a finger in the air estimate though, the real answer is likely to
be very different.
