Hello, I have a guy wanting to sell me a Jango Fett (Balaclava Head) SW0053 but
I have my doubts about its being Authentic. The head doesnt have the Lego stamp
anywhere and has the 3 open slots in the top. also neither leg has the Lego stamp
and finally the helmet doesnt have the Lego stamp either. All these things make
me feel this minifigure is not authentic.
The torso and hips do have the Lego stamp so Im wanting to know opinions here
or if somene has this minifigure can show me the head and legs and helmet have
the Lego stamp.
Thanks

The lack of Lego logo is NOT a good measure of whether or not a piece is genuine,
unless you're talking about solid studs (on top of bricks, plates, etc).

The only pieces in that figure that should have a logo are the hips and the torso
(on top of the neck peg). No blocked-open stud heads have a logo. No headgear
from that period, including the Boba Fett/Jango Fett helmet, has a logo (it should
have a circled number like 1, 2, or 3 inside -- mine has a circled 2).
No legs from that period have a logo. The only piece that you mentioned that
should is the hips, right between the pegs for the torso. If that's missing,
then perhaps it might be fake.

Honestly, the best test is the eye test. Does the plastic look like Lego plastic?
Is the printing clean and does it pretty closely match the pictures for the parts
on Bricklink? You should post some pictures, because that's the only way
you'll get a precise assessment from the community.

Not all parts had "Lego" on them, especially during that period. I think some
had the copyright symbol, a number, or nothing at all (ex. lightsaber bar).

The legs are cheap anyway. The torso is expensive, so if that is genuine chances
are the other parts are too.

Still looking to verify where or if the helmet has the Lego stamp? Mine doesnt
have the Lego stamp on it anywhere. Can anyone inform me?
Thanks

Many of the older helmets/hair did not have a lego stamp, but many did have a
C. It wasn't until pretty recently that the Lego group has been putting the
lego stamp on all their helmet/hair pieces.

I don't think it was even feasible until a few years ago.

Neither the helmet nor the legs would have had a Lego stamp on it.

i have just been very lucky buying a bulk lot of lego there was inside parts
for set 7153, and a jango fett, sw0053. but no balaclava head , missing ? lost
? , and the helmet just has a number 2 inside, and the legs has the lego logo
my question do i sell it as is because in lego build instructions shows jango
fett being built, first figure is balaclava head and black hair piece, second
build is black head 3626a? with helmet on,looking at the bricklink parts for
the set it shows hair piece but no black head ? is it missing ? as i cannot find
a hard paper copy of the parts in the set i have put in a Inventory Change Request,
so watch out for reply's ..one other question ? HELP can lego violet discolour
?

Any color of Lego can get discolored.

The inventory of that minifigure gives the balaclava head, so you can't sell
the minifigure as is. If I understand the instructions correctly, there is not
an extra black head, rather you turn the balaclava head around when putting the
helmet on in place of the hair.
