Good morning,

I was an eBay seller and buyer for years but I am a newbie to bricklink and the
protocols.

My son (it's his account but I admin because he is now 13 yo), found all
five of the dino attack sets and ordered them all. Three of them were super smooth
transactions but the last two have been rough.

We ordered the two sets in question from two different vendors on July 20. One
supplied an invoice late last week and we paid right away (no tracking or any
information from them yet). The second vendor has not provided an invoice.

We have contacted the sellers twice through bricklink in English and French asking
for updates but all correspondence from us shows in bricklink as being unread.

I don't want to be "that guy", and I would like to assume that the sellers
are on/were on vacation, however at what point should we escalate these issues
to bricklink?

Thank you!

Addendum - just received a communication from the one vendor that an invoice
will be sent today. I would still like to know the feelings of the community
on the issues we experienced. Thank you!

You can start an NRS (non-responding seller) alert once 7 days have passed since
the order. If a seller is going on vacation, the least he or she can do is
post a notice to that effect on their storefront. Better still would be to close
the store, possibly leaving the password with the close notice with a note saying
something like: "I can't invoice or ship your order until I get back from
vacation"

You should never wait more than 3 days for an invoice.

Keep in mind that there are a variety of sellers here: big sellers with shops
and employees, people who sell part-time from their homes, and people who just
have their extras listed as a hobby. You should carefully check feedback and
store terms to see who you are ordering from and how active they are on the site.

Good luck and hope you find everything you were looking for!

There are also abandoned shops. As long as 3 NRS alerts aren't completed
against them, they there open forever.

Isn’t the inventory deleted when the seller doesn’t log in for 6 months or so?

There was a recent message suggesting it was a year now

So, not forever

Here's an update to our conundrum: We have had communication from the one
seller concerning the shipping and tracking information, and communication from
the other seller that they were going to provide an invoice today (which is now
yesterday with no invoice).
Thanks to all of you for your help. It is really appreciated! Lego On!!

I've had only two really bad transactions on BL and one of them was like
yours. No invoice, even after several emails. I finally got a reply with an
excuse (which sounded legit), and a promise to get the invoice out the next day.
That didn't happen. After more emails, got a reply that they were making
sure they had all the items. I think there were about 7 lots. Nothing. Finally
I started a request to cancel, which involved NRS. Got a pleading email to take
away the NRS. I responded that I would if I got an invoice. Nothing. After
6-7 weeks, the NRS finished, I cancelled and removed the NRS. Most annoying!!
