Buying Privileges - OK
Hello everyone,

I (my son) have bought a 228 EUR Lego star wars set listed as "Complete" and
the seller confirmed in message that the set is in "Excellent condition".

Unfortunately seller was not beeing honest and pieces were missing, some pieces
were broken, the minifigures had wrong hair and hands, some of the minigures
faces were faded etc.

I immediately wrote to the seller asking for the money back and offering to pay
for the return label - but seller only wanted to give us 20 EUR back and stop
answering my messages.

Luckily PayPal agreed with us and gave us a 100 % refund of the 228 EUR, and
the money is on its way to my account. I am now returning the set to seller,
who is also paying for the return.

Now my question
I filed a NSS alert on Bricklink, and seller has now asked me to cancel it -
I don´t know the rules, do I just cancel it, or do I choose "Complete" so that
the celler gets a NSS penalty?

The only reason my son is getting the money back, is because og PayPall not because
of seller - so do I choose "cancel" or "Complete"?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards

The NSS will be cancelled when the seller provides proof of refund. So maybe
just leave it, and let them do the work to provide the required info.

PayPal decided in your favour. Complete the NSS.
We don't need sellers who don't handle order issues.

When Paypal decides to refund a buyer, the money comes from the seller (paypal
freezes the full amount on the sellers account, and then uses that to pay the
buyer)! So the seller did refund.

If the seller wants the NSS removed the seller should add this information in
the NSS comments.

As a buyer you could add the comment that a refund was given via paypal.

Not if the money on the account was cleared. Then PayPal made the refund.
That's why PayPal users pay fees.

It will still eventually come from the seller, PayPal will chase them for the
money if they have nothing in their account. Any money they receive will also
be frozen until they pay their debt to PayPal. They will also likely have to
pay the dispute fee too if not solved amicably and it was escalated to PayPal.

However, I wouldn't say the seller has refunded. PayPal gave a refund as
the seller did not. Hence, I'd let the seller do the work to get any NSS
cancelled, proving to BL that paypal did the refund on their behalf, as they
refused to cooperate with the buyer.

Thank you so much, I really agree with your point of view, that's what I'll
do.

Thank you for your answer - but the seller dit not want to refund, he only did
so because Paypal made him, and returned the money, so he did'nt really have
a choice.
