Anyone got an interesting story or an amusing tale to take my mind off things
?

Perhaps something odd and interesting about Lego, maybe something that might
start an interesting string on the forum.

Cheers.

I drive my daughter to work every morning. She takes the bus home to make this
happen. We leave early so that we can enjoy our breakfast (tailgate style) on
the 7 floor parking garage roof of the medical clinic she works at, which offers
a fantastic panoramic view of Western Washington, including Mt. Rainier (14,410
ft volcano) to the south. Beautiful!

I feel so damn lucky that someone as wonderful as my daughter wants to spend
time with me… plus the views ain’t bad

Distractions are good, but not entirely therapeutic. What’s going on in your
life that's bad?

I’ve a few things going on and I’m off work, two months now due to stress, moving
jobs and house not helping.

Coping with this as I’m rearranging my whole approach to work and life in general,
the issue is with a dear friend and work colleague.

He phoned me yesterday to let me know how he is getting on, he’s had a few health
problems and been for tests.

He dropped the bombshell that the so called routine tests had shown that he has
terminal cancer and has less than twelve months.

Lost for words as to what to do or say, just did my best to convey my wish to
help in anyway I can, needless to say I feel helpless to help someone in this
situation.

Got a little emotional if I’m to be honest.

Frankly, you've brought unexpected tears to my eyes hearing this. I feel
for you, but...

don't feel "helpless" Go, be with your friend, as much as is appropriate
anyway. Be there for him, whether he thinks it necessary or not. Whatever it
takes, be there for him.

I just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about your friend, and if a prayer
will help I am sending a 1000. Maybe you can go in person and spend time with
your friend. Thinking of you and sending warmest regards.

Thank you on his behalf, can’t imagine how he’s feeling.

Rearranging your life is very important, but can give a lot of stress while you
are trying to make life less stressful…..

He dropped the bombshell that the so called routine tests had shown that he has

At least 12 more months to share and be there for him, try and make the best
of it for both of you.
Also, not to diminish his impending doom, but you are also responsible for your
grandchild so try and stay positive for both your sakes.

There is nothing you can do to help him with his sickness but be there and help
him get to grips with the life he has left, not the death that is coming, we
all die

Got a little emotional if I’m to be honest.

Totally understandable.

As you know, I have been ill for some years now, struggled with depression because
of it, so I know nothing I say really helps, but just so you know, you and your
wife have been a great support for me.
I am sure you will help your friend too, nothing better than to enjoy life while
you can.

Try and see the bright side of things, you don’t wanne be depressed like me

Thanks Maxx, appreciate what you have to say, I know you’ve been through a lot.

You’re quite right about things getting worse before they get better, you don’t
turn your life around overnight, we’ll get there.

Probably at the height of the pressure on us at the moment, I’m sure many are
going through worse, my friend for one but you can only sort your own before
you can help others.

Look forward to the day Su and myself sit there knowing the worst is behind us
and toast the future, family and friends, not forgetting BL.

This pieces appears to be a two part mold. I once had just the piece that was
for the majority of the outer section.

Part No: 75535 Name: Technic, Pin Connector Round 2L without Slot (Pin Joiner Round)
*
75535 Technic, Pin Connector Round 2L without Slot (Pin Joiner Round)
Parts: Technic, Connector

This piece has been accidentally produced with one of the hinge rocker sides
flipped backwards, so that it can only function as a 1x2 brick. It came from
one of the Star Wars Desert Skiff sets (Sadly, I through it out).

Part No: 3937 Name: Hinge Brick 1 x 2 Base

Parts: Hinge

I believe I’ve seen that odd hinge piece too but don’t know what happened to
it, hope it’s in my reject box that I still have.

I’ll check when I get settled in a new house.

I was scrolling through Twitter the other day, and some friends were going camping
in Northern California. My friend Rick posted a video of their groups campground.
He describes it all as he's panning from the dumpster, to the bathroom, to
the bear boxes they keep their food in at night, to the tables and food prep
area, and finally pans around to their van. When he's done, he whips the
camera back to the bathroom, where we now see a woman walking up the path, and
he deadpan says, "And there's my girlfriend, who had to poop. Looks like
things went pretty well." I about fell out of my chair laughing. I imagine she
left his body for the bears after she killed him.

This might be of interest but its not funny. I received an order last night
at 11:30PM for one bionicle part $1.20 US. I woke this morning, printed, picked
and shipped the item but I didn't get around to updating the status until
after lunch - I have a bunch of orders today sometimes I get busy and am away
from the computer picking parts. The mailman picks up around 11:15 AM so I try
to have all paid orders ready if possible.

The person that ordered the part sent an email outside of BL, using an email-address
NOT associated with the order - it also didn't have a name attached. I sent
a reply 'who is this?' to which I got back jibberish which I did not
reply to and filed away.

The buyer just left me a neutral FB, changed the order status to completed -
yet hasn't even got the part as the mailman picked up at 11:30 this morning.

Geesh.... I don't know how I could have done any better, honestly!

Looks like they have done this to a few others as well. Three feebacks given,
thee "eh"s. Thanks for the heads up.

I suspect many of us have had buyers who are impatient, asking if the order has
been shipped yet, I’ve had the odd one ask within an hour of ordering.

Perhaps something odd and interesting about Lego, maybe something that might

Had the garage door open along with the side door in our shop while packing orders.
to help airflow this morning as it got up to 90 Fahrenheit and there's currently
no AC in the building.

Went to grab some bins near the door when I spot one of the cats creeping up.
She knows she's not allowed in. I stand there and glare, which is usually
enough to dissuade them. She looks at me, looks inside, then looks at me again.
Then she rebelliously shoots into the shop through the garage door and right
back out through the side door, as if mocking me.
It's a good things its a cute cat, that's all I have to say...

Animals are usually a good source of humour, my daughters dog is Maximilian but
affectionally known as mad Max, he lives up to the name being a chocolate Labrador.

Sadly lost my friend, my daughters dog Max ( Mad Max ) passed away this morning.

Never thought I’d get so upset over this but it hit me hard, loved that dog.

R.I.P. My friend.

Max as I remember him, the pretty one on the back of the sofa, not the shaggy
haired one.

Awww...he's got the sweetest eyes.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had a beautiful lab named Buddy who was my best
friend for many years, so I know how it can feel. They keep a permanent place
in your heart.

Take care and be well,

Jen

Thank you for your kind words.

As a teenager we had a golden Labrador and she was a great loss back then, couldn’t
bring myself to have a dog after that.

My daughter decided to have Max when she had her own place, he spent some time
with us at one stage and we became best buddies.

He had a habit of lying on the back of the sofa behind you as you see in the
photo, now I’m reminded of why I wouldn’t have a dog all those years, can’t stand
losing them.

What a year this is turning out to be.

My youngest daughter lost her dog today, passed away this morning.

R.I.P. Leo, a American bulldog cross, a rescue dog that had suffered badly.

He had an amazing life for the last six years, spoilt rotten, he deserved it,
he was a lovely affectionate dog.

That’s both dogs taken suddenly since early January 2022.
