| I'm new to bricklink. I run an ebay store and ordered to complete sets to
resell. Ordered a month back, ordered never arrived. Turns out seller put wrong
zipcode for a town 30 mins away. Drove to that post office and the 2 between
hoping they had this order because these are taking up space on my seller table
and costing time and money. Contacted seller and he needs another 7-14 days to
investigate before refunding or replacement order with whatever pieces he still
has in stock. He also offered a free minifigure under a certain amount but this
is not a collecting hobby for me. It's business. This is after sent me wrong
tracking info the first time. Being in customer service I don't understand
making the customer wait for refund but is bricklink different? This is only
my second order and already not sure I will use this website again. Any advice
or wisdom would be appreciated.

All sellers on BL are not created equal, so I guess my first question would be
what was the feedback and experience of the seller you ordered from? There are
lots of hobbyists on here, but you can usually sus them out from feedback and
store terms.
If time and convenience are a factor, it is in your best interest to try and
buy from established stores with good reputations.

I would consider how long they have been a seller, and then gauge their store
volume by when and how often they have received and given feedback. It is certainly
possible to become established within a few months I would say.
Of course, not all established sellers are professional either, but you can certainly
tell a lot about them by reading their terms, their feedback, and the feedback
they have left for others.
The experience the OP described seemed like a lot of rookie mistakes. How is
someone getting the zipcode wrong? They are still hand-writing addresses on packages
and then standing in line at the post office? Then typing in the tracking number
from the receipt? It's not definitive, but I would guess it is an inexperienced
seller.
I don't mind buying from hobby sellers or even new sellers if I am not in
a hurry, but the OP was concerned about the transactions affecting their business,
so...

Ok thank you. I think I would be better off filing with paypal for a refund at
this point. What is considered a decent amount for a store to be on here? Thanks
again for replies.

They have high feedback (over 500) and it is listed as being a store.

That is a very high feedback for sure, but BL combines buying and selling feedback.
You can see what's what on their feedback page. There are also no grand qualifications
for being a store, you just sign up and prove your identity. I guess I am just
saying that you really need to check a place out before you buy. It sounds like
you got unlucky with this one.
7-14 days does seem excessive after a month has already gone by. You should communicate
with them firmly but politely that you expect a refund at this point.
Sorry you had a bad experience!

I'm sorry you are in this situation. Unfortunately, these things happen
from time to time but, for the most part, most BL sellers are honest people.
If you used PayPal as your payment method and it has been at least 30 days since
then, you can file a claim with PayPal and likely receive a full refund if you
have not received your order. Also, keep in mind that PayPal now charges sellers
a $20 fee for this service so it will be in their best interest to address the
issue quickly and fairly.
Good luck.

I don't think these are correct. A buyer can open a Paypal claim with 180
days of payment. The $20 fee is a nonrefundable fee charged to the seller when
a buyer files a chargeback (complaint with their credit card company). No fee
is charged to the seller for a straight PayPal claim.

OK, Go to PayPal. Open the details of the payment you made. Check that the address,
including the zip-code, is correct. Many sellers print postage direct from PayPal,
and do not manually enter the details. In fact, changing any of the address details
is grounds to lose PayPal's seller protection. You might have mis-entered
the zip code when placing the order.

I paid directly from PayPal so it uses the address on file. It is correct. The
seller already admitted he miswrote the address. He is telling me now there is
nothing I can do but wait. And that even if I cancel and get a refund I will
not any bricks because now France and Germany are no longer shipping to US. That
the only thing I can do is wait 7-14 days for his country's post office
to determine what happened. Which makes no sense to me.

| Seller knows what happened - he used the wrong zip code.
No reason for you to wait. The package will be eventually returned to the seller
as not deliverable.

Yes, you have waited long enough. Open a case/dispute on Paypal for non-delivery
and write in all the details -make it very specific.https://www.paypal.com/disputes/
The money gets held in the transaction and the seller will have to answer to
PP. You can also open an NSS in Bricklink as you didn't receive the package.
If the seller wrote the address wrong and didn't print from PP, then Paypal
will side with you the buyer. In general, Paypal sides with the buyer unless
the seller can show proof of delivery .
For an NSS - go to Problem Center on the bottom of any page , click on Problem
and type in the order #. You will see prompts for further steps. NSS is non-shipping
seller.

I though the NSS case was only if they didn't have ship? Thank you for the
advice as well. I'm holding to word and waiting for the mail to arrive today.
If it doesn't I am filing this evening. It seems unanimous that I have waited
long enough. It may be rude but I will not help him file a claim with the post
office. I just don't see how that is my responsibility in this matter. If
what he says is true and shipping is closed from France and Germany I will just
have to wait.

My opinion is that the seller should not be making the buyer wait for a refund.
Seller made the mistake. Seller is likely to get the shipment back as undeliverable.
Buyer has already been waiting for a month, so why should buyer wait any longer?
