I posted about £10 worth of minifigures from the UK to a buyer in Greece on 17th
June and just received a message saying they still haven't arrived. Due to
the low value of the sale I didn't sent it tracked just international standard.
If the figures don't arrive I will refund the full amount, but just wondering
how long would be a reasonable time to wait?

I've had items stuck in customs for weeks sometimes (record is nearly a month)
so it could just be stuck in the system, although a month seems excessive. Just
wondering if there's a generally agreed time beyond which you should just
refund the buyer?

TIA

How do you know it's still stuck in customs without a tracking number to
confirm that ?

I don't, I'm just saying it could be, given that I've sent tracked
items before that have taken over a month to arrive. I accept the odds are it's
not going to arrive.

I think the best course of action here is to discuss this with your buyer so
you can both reach an amicable agreement on when to begin talking about refunds.
If you do it all by yourself there's a higher possibility that you'll
inconvenience both yourself and the buyer.

I had a tracked item from the UK to Germany arrive in mid March after sending
on New Year’s Eve.

Items from UK to New Zealand are now arriving quicker than ones within the EU
- they just seem to get stuck as soon as they leave to UK either in customs or
somewhere in the country you’re sending too.

For International Standard, you can raise a claim with Royal Mail 20 working
days (Mon-Fri) after the parcel was due to be delivered (so 25 working days to
account for the expected 3-5 day delivery "aim"). See https://www.royalmail.com/help/lost-items-parcels-letters

I've had two parcels get stuck somewhere - one to Poland and one to Italy,
both took around a month but did eventually arrive before I could claim.

I start by communicating with the buyer to say that they should be patient. Once
the claim window opens I would fully refund the order and open a claim with Royal
Mail. It may still be delivered, in which case you could end up out of pocket,
but in my view, that's just a cost of doing business. I always send international
orders over £20 with tracking to remove some of the risk to me.
