| Hi all. Wondering if you have any thoughts on how much autographs would increase
the value of a set. Like if you had one or two of the actors represented
in the set autograph the instruction manual. Anyone ever seen something like
this?
Thanks!

Depends on who and if there is any authentication to go with it.

I have never understood why an autograph that someone else got is valuable to
someone.

Autographs all together are kind of a strange thing. Apparently people are willing
to pay for autographed stuff nonetheless.

commemorative spoons. Some people collect autographs. That is all there is to

There are many sets that have been autographed in store on the day of release
by the designers that some people try to sell for large amounts although the
designer might have autographed 100s of them identically. There might be a small
premium when sets do actually sell, but not much. A lot of the time the writing
is not that clear and to me looks more like damage than something special.
However if you had a big name actor sign a set as a one off, that is probably
more valuable. Get Tom Cruise to sign the Mission Impossible set, or Orlando
Bloom sign a set with Legolas and that will probably have a premium.

Thanks for this info. I went to a star wars convention years ago and managed
to get both David prowse and Jeremy Bulloch autographs on my instruction manual
for the original cloud city set. No idea if I will ever sell it but have been
curious about the value. It's difficult to ascertain...

| Looking into it a bit more, seems like I could potentially get both authenticated
for $50. The question is, do David Prowse and Jeremy Bullochs autographs increase
the value of the set more than what it would cost to authenticate them. That
I have no idea. Personally in my hardcore collecting days, I probably would
have paid a premium for those autographs, but everyone is different I suppose.
Also remembering that I did have to pay for those signatures at the SW convention.
Don't remember how much though..

| I have a signed copy of
Signed by Kjell Kirk Kristiansen
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kjeld_Kirk_Kristiansen
A friend of mine won it by entering a contest. It was the same time as the bat-pod
contest so this one kind of fell through the cracks. In any case, he won and
received an email but no certificate of authentication. The autograph is awful
to be honest. Dark marker on dark box. WHY????
It's a shame to open it and build it so I've tried to trade it to somebody
for the same sealed set minus the autograph or course. So far, no takers.
