I have a SEALED Black Seas Barracuda (6285-1) I'd like* to sell. My research
says Bricklink is probably the best place to look for dedicated collectors (hi
, but this is the ONLY set I have to sell - I'm a player, not a collector.
However, the process of purchasing something just to get the credit then paying
the usually ludicrous shipping, so I can go through the rigmarole of setting
up a shop ... Is there a simpler alternative?

Thanks

* Actually I'm not that desperate to sell - my daughter has been asking for
'the lego pirates from the box' to join in with Elsa and the Daleks when
we play - but I'm aware that there are collectors who would be made very
happy by this box, whereas my daughter would be just as happy with the more recent
Pirates / lego stuff. I'm trying to increase overall happiness, no matter
how much I want to open that box

If you aren't looking to become a seller for other than a single set, this
really isn't the best choice. Set tend to take longer to sell and for that
one specifically only 1 new set and 42 used have sold in the last six months.
You might do better on the marketplace or other auctions sites.

Welcome to BrickLink! You are indeed correct in that in order to upgrade to a
seller account, you need at least one positive feedback; i.e., you need to buy
something. However, it doesn't have to be something big, like a set; it can
be just a few parts, and you can buy local to save on shipping. However, the
seller verification process can take a while. If you are in a hurry to sell the
Black Seas Barracuda, then you would probably be better of selling on eBay.
