| Ran out of room in the subject line. I meant internationally, especially
given how the US is landlocked between Canada and Mexico.
I'm hesitant to purchase any set from an international seller because
I'm worried that despite sets being listed for much cheaper than ones being
sold domestically, I'm going to end up paying more in import fees, duties,
shipping costs, etc. I do not like to be limited to the US alone in terms of
cost effectiveness.
Are there any buyers in the US that have experience in this matter where
they ordered a set internationally and it ended up being cheaper than it would
have been purchasing domestically? How often does it occur? Is Canada viable?

You are in the USA, you don't pay duty
The only way to know is to ask the seller for a shipping quote.
Its pretty safe, look at the sellers feedback, not their country

You might well pay so much more in shipping that it makes buying a given set
cost ineffective but you don't have to worry about customs fees or duties
unless you're spending A LOT of money

I'm not a geography expert, but the USA isn't landlocked…

I don't have experience purchasing sets from overseas, but I occasionally
purchase parts from overseas if they are significantly cheaper or simply not
available in sufficient quantities in the USA. You would be surprised how reasonable
shipping can be from Europe to the USA compared to sending the same package from
the USA to Europe via USPS. I've never had to pay import fees or duties.
If you are concerned about shipping costs, ask the seller for a quote before
buying, or use instant checkout if possible. The one downside to ordering from
overseas is that many packages are untracked.

Yes ordering abroad can be very interesting if the combined cost and shipping
cost are lower that the total local price. But you won't save on state taxes.
You have a 800$ import tax exemption on each package ordered in Canada IIRC.
Be sure to use Canada Post and USPS, as some carriers like UPS and Fedex charge
administration fees on import taxes in some countries, not sure about the US.
Hope that helps.

| Hi SomeRandomUser,
I have shipped to 1 customer in the US (Michigan) with Paypal. The system automatically
added taxes for Michigan, so I would expect you could get an offer with the right
costs.
Further I have sold most orders abroad. Never seen an issue with taxes, shipping
or such.
But my advice would be to combine a number of sets. This way you can spread your
shipping costs over more than just one set. That helps bigtime. And added to
that I, but others as well, would be open to a discount when you order more than
one set.
Hope this helps.
Regards!
Marco
