With the help of the Bricklink Helpdesk (kuddos!) I finally managed to complete
the process of reverting my membership type to "buyer".

Hardly "newsworthy" I fully realize, but still very weird for me to see after
17 years of being a seller here. I've been playing with the idea for some
years now but always got pulled back into "the game".

Looking forward to this new perspective and to be able to focus on the hobby
instead of buying with commercial arguments in the back of my head (will take
some time adjusting I guess).
Also looking forward to many more years of doing business with so many fine stores
here on this platform and curious to see where the future together with TLC will
lead us!

A big thank you to all my buyers over those years, especially the returning clients!
It's been a privilege doing business with you.

Didn't the reverting of your account work?

It did, they just never went forward with it until now. My guess is that they
just closed their store for periods of time, never completing the reversion process
itself.

It isn't a support request, rather a milestone announcement.

I know it's an announcement.
I'm just curious why the helpdesk was needed to revert the account while
it's possible to revert it without the help of the helpdesk.

Sorry for my confusion, I missed that detail in the original post.

There are sometimes unpaid fees that are under the billing threshold. Because
there is no invoice, the seller has to make an offsite payment to BrickLink and
then ask the Help Desk to credit their account manually.

Off course, thank you. 😉

Indeed, that was the other thing, paying the $0.73 BL balance but no issues there.
The "real issue" was that last order (which was placed months ago) that remained
in the "received" status and in which the buyer never replied to my attempts
at contact.

I had one last order (see previous messages regarding delayed delivery to Greece)
wherein my buyer set the order status to "received". I contacted him both via
the BL messaging system and directly via e-mail to ask him if everything was
OK with his order and to set the order status to "completed" if everything was
to his satisfaction, but I received no reply and the order status remained the
same. I noticed on his profile that he rarely gives FB so perhaps he simply doesn't
care much about such details.

However, as a seller you can no longer set an order status to "completed" yourself
(sounds logic enough to me) so I could not complete the process.
I asked the helpdesk to intervene by contacting the buyer or changing the order
status which they did.

The good news is that you can apply to be a seller again if you have another
change of heart! 😁

I feel the reasons you have stated. My own store has a clear goal in mind, and
it isn't commercial, rather to clear my physical space of extra sets and
parts. This has helped me steer away from thoughts like "I should buy this set
now and sit on it before reselling it" because it involves expanding the storage
space, which is in direct violation with my store's intent.

Keep on bricking!
