| My kid is into space, and I’m positive he’ll love the new Duplo Space Shuttle.
I’m not a fan of the May GWP, and wanted to wait a months. Too risky? I know
it’s not the typical blockbuster set, but I’d be sad not to get it. On the other
hand, he’s recently discovered Hot Wheels, so I don’t want to have too many sets
in hand.

| I don't have any inside knowledge of Lego operations, but NASA actually has
a page on their site discussing the relationship between NASA and Lego. The Lunar
Lander and Saturn V are both in production, and I think those go back 4 years
for the Saturn V, and 2 years for the Lander, both of which still seem in production.
The new Discovery Shuttle is one of the best kits I have built.
Lego probably doesn't have as much "royalty/licensing" overhead for NASA
items as they would with Marvel/DC/Potter/Star Wars, so I'd say you have
some time
*just my guess*

1. Saturn V is a reissue.
2. Those are +18 sets, maybe Duplo is different.
Anyway, the set is not even out yet, so it should be available at least this
whole year.

Duplo sets rarely go to retirement very fast. It is nowhere near as collectable
as regular lego.

Thanks for all of your answers. I wanted it for later in the year, so that’s
perfect. Kid is almost out of Duplos, but I think he’ll still be stoked about
a space shuttle.

Even if it went into retirement I think it would still be available here on BrickLink
for a while at a reasonable price.

Of course, reasonable price means different things to different people.

We would pay a pretty penny. I showed it to kid and asked if I should get it
for his baby brother. Kid said no, the set looked too exciting, and they would
have trouble sharing.
