I read all the inventory change requests concerning the 12v motors done by member
SezaR during the last months (set 7730, 7750, 7760, 7725, 7727, 7755, 7735, 7745,
7865, 5086), I strongly confirm his point of view and I hope that soon BL Inventory
will introduce the new subdivision between 4 Types of motor!

However there are some exceptions…

Here below I attach 3 pictures of a MIB 7727, found in an Ebay auction 2 months
ago: you can clearly recognize a Type 1 motor (bb12Va) from 1980, even if the
set comes from 1983 (see the 1983 train catalogue included)!!!
Quite surely Lego had some old red motors in his stock and used them in some
copies of 7727…

Dear Morris,
This is not an exception. This item was in sale on Ebay of Australia few weeks
ago.I contaceted the seller. He said he had bought it 10 years ago on Ebay. This
set was claimed to be in MISB. I noticed that the motor was not right so I contaced
the seller and asked him a photo of the bottom of the motor and the production
date written under the motor. The pickup points were worn so the motor was previously
used. The date was 1980 which is impossible for a set released in 1983.
Hope this clarifies this case.

Dear Reza,
thanks once again for your clarification.
I noticed that the motor could not be right, but I didn't asked further information
to the seller.
So sorry If I did a wrong Inventory change request!

For future reference, the wrong type motor is made on 23rd week in 1980, as readable
on the third photo.
After my message to the seller, he added this note in his announce:
"After an inquiry regarding the motor and taking some pictures of it, there is
the possibility that this motor isn't new. I am not sure if the contacts
are worn or oxidized. See pictures below to decide for yourself."

No wprries.
Admin will chech the requests anyway, I should only share and comment what I
know.
For future reference, the set 7727 from 1983 came with motor type 2 (currently
named bb12vb) too. But those motors came with this set were produced in late
1982, like 49th week in 1982. Since 1983, TLG changed the case of red motors
and made the pins separted so the motors switched to type 3 (currently named
bb12vb too). I got the photos of a red motor of type 3 made in 2nd week in 1983.

I have rejected the requests per your retraction. In the future, you may remove
pending requests yourself by going to your My Activity page (cancelling the forum
request does not remove the pending request).

Removing the request yourself saves you from having the rejection in your request
history (although rejections disappear from your history after a period of time
anyway).
