I just checked and I believe the inventory is correct as is. Yeah, I know, lame
pic, I was trying to show you the color compared to a Dumbledore torso from

Dark Purple doesn't start showing up until 2003, long after the run of this
1999 set.

| According to the catalog dark purple wasn't introduced until 2003 and the
set referenced is from '99

Thanks for the photo, Maggie. There seems to be a mistake here somewhere, but
not with this inventory.

As other members have noted in this thread, 1999 is too early for Dark Purple.
What you may be seeing is a color difference due to manufacturing inconsistency.
From what I have read, the purple shades are among the worst for this.
Another thing to consider is that the "Purple" parts in the 5370 inventory may
be listed under the wrong color. According to Lego's official data, these
parts are TLG "Bright Reddish Violet", which maps to BL "Light Purple".

Looking into this further, I am quite sure the 5370 inventory is wrong. It is
part of a group of sets that are related in the catalog, but it is newer than
all the other sets by at least 3 years, and there is evidence that all the inventories
were just copied from the original one:
According to Lego data, all the other sets are listed with Purple, but this one
has Light Purple. So if there is no objection, I will take this inventory request
as evidence that there is indeed a difference in the purples in this set.
