Allow wanted lists to have more than one of the same item on them. This would
make working with Wanted Lists so much easier. I want to be able to have the
same piece in the same color on the same wanted list. I often use different
remarks for these items and combining the remarks and changing the quantities
manually can be terribly tedious, time consuming, and is an absolute pain in
the neck.
Also if a feature could be added so that if I try to add a part to a wanted list
with the same part already on it, it asks me if I want to combine the lots together
and if so if I want to merge the remarks.
Thanks,
Pete

Copy item should work.

Unfortunately, not onto the same wanted list.

I tried it and ended up turning it off, but there is a setting that allows you
to get a set of checkboxes for each Wanted List when using that feature within
a store. Check as many as you like, and it gives you results for everything
you selected at the same time. The trick is, it only shows up as two lines of
notes below any shared part, so you do have to pay attention more.
The other workaround is that in the past, it you added 10 of Part X to your cart,
adding 5 of Part X overrode the previous quantity and ended up giving you only
5. This has been changed so adding 5 of Part X actually adds five to the current
total, meaning you can sit there and build up one list at a time and the inputs
will combine for larger totals.

Thanks for the suggestion. I already use this feature though. Unfortunately,
it is not the problem I am trying to get fixed.
I have multiple wanted lists with different items on them. I put comments in
each wanted list describing what the items are for (so when my order comes I
can sort the pieces to their respective projects). For instance I will have
a wanted list with all the pieces I need for 10179, and each remark in that list
might say 10179. I'll also have a wanted list for my Death Star II
project and each remark might say DSII.
When I place an order I then move the respective pieces ordered to my "on order"
wanted list. It is now a wanted list I can hide when searching through other
stores (so I don't duplicate purchases), but I also haven't deleted the
part yet so if there is a mistake with the order it is easy to put back on my
wanted list AND I know where to sort the pieces onces they arrive.
Well if I buy 7 of a lot in one store for project A, move the pieces over to
my "on order" wanted list and then go to another store and buy 10 of that same
lot but for project B, I have a problem. Because when I try to move that 10
piece lot over to my "on order" wanted list I get an error message because the
part is already on my list. Now I have to open up the "on order" wanted list,
and not only manually change the number from 7 to 10 but I also have to change
the remark to say something along the lines of A(7), B(10). It's
not a big deal every now and then, but often I am working on 5-10 projects at
the same time and I have to do this dozens of times an order. It's not only
time consuming, but if you aren't very careful it is very easy to mess up
your wanted lists.
There are also times when I just flat out try to add a piece to a wanted list
(regardless of whether I already have it on there, I want to add an additional
amount of that piece), and when I try to add it, it gives me an error because
it is already on the wanted list. I have to then go to that wanted list and
manually change everything once again. It should just ask me if I want to combine
the new amount to the current amount or allow me to add it as a separate lot
on that wanted list.
And a third time where this issue is problematic is when a wanted list specifies
condition (new/used). This one is the most obnoxious. I cannot add an unspecified
condition lot to a wanted list with a specified condition. Also, when I click
the "items on order on wanted list" button it doesn't show me the specified
condition pieces, if the opposite condition was bought.
I am sure I didn't explain that perfectly, but all I am asking from the site
programmers is a way to allow multiple of the same lot on the same wanted list.
It's allowed in stores I am not sure why it wouldn't be allowed on wanted
lists. An addition of being able to merge lots and remarks would be even better.
And for amazing bonus points. If our orders had the capabilities to show our
own remarks (buyer's remarks) after an order was placed, I would jump for
joy.
Thanks,
-Pete

| You can move the same part twice (or thrice or more) to a single wanted list
as long as the part isn't there yet. So, the workaround is to move that part
(from your 'on order' and from your '10179' list (and optionally
other lists) simultaneously to a temporary wanted list (I use main for that).
Then move them all in one sweep to your 'on order' wanted list.

Well that is a fantastic little trick! Thanks for the workaround. I still
will leave my suggestion up because I think there is value in adding these features
and this workaround is probably not well known, but I will certainly be using
this trick in the future.
Thanks,
Pete

| Could you please describe that step-by-step?
How can I move/copy parts from two (or more) different lists to a temporary one
simultaneously?
